Yeah. I don't need a sign to tell me that. (Anymore)

But I did have another chili dog incident. My friend and I went to Wienerschnitzel. (I know, I know but I can't help it) I ordered a chili cheese dog and a kraut dog.

So anyway. I go out to the garage because I have a package out there and my German Shepherd is with me.

I walk back in and my buddy is eating my kraut dog so I ask him what he's doing?

He says that I owe him a hot dog.

I ask. How do I owe you a hot dog?

Because your dog ate mine.

No. He was with me.

Not Duke. That one. He points at my little Havanese.

So I asked where did you leave it?

He says. On the table. I had to use the bathroom and when I came out it was gone.

I have no idea how that little dog got on the table. But he obviously did because he had chili on his face.

GUILTY!!! CHILI DOG THIEF!!!! Here's the mug shot.

Paul- I had a 7-pound Maltese dog that could jump high enough to end up on the table. If I let her hair grow long enough, she wouldn't have looked much different from your Havanese. I bet your Havanese jumped up on the table and stole you chili cheese dog. <.< >.>

I seriously don't know how any of these things can happen with chili dogs. I've never known one to last much longer than when it was handed to me. Isn't that the idea? Take dog from vendor put in face?

 Indeed. Though I did recognize the guy running the local Cupid's and finally got to where he used to work at the local Home Depot. I had to bail, that dog was getting cold.

I buy them by the bag. I don't get over to town too much so I stock up. They microwave nicely.

Or you could just leave them in the car for 3 days.

That Havanese is sneaky. This isn't the first time he's done something like that. He got bacon off of the island in the middle of the kitchen and it's pretty high. But when it comes to food that little dog doesn't mess around.

My GSD Duke always gets blamed because he's so big. He can reach anything. And he has a record of stealing food. He stole an entire rotisserie chicken right behind my wife's back. We found what was left of it all ripped apart in the backyard. And don't leave butter out to soften up. It won't be there long. He likes butter. I have to put it in the microwave to keep him from getting it. He'll probably figure out how to open that though. He knows how to open doors (and lock them) He's locked me out a few times when he gets mad at me. I think my wife taught him that one.

Oh great. Now I'm getting Oscar Meyer banner ads. No thank you. My brand of hot dog is Kunzler

All these nuts/bolts/fasteners and they are all fake. But at least they hid the lug nuts . Can you count them all?

I struggle with these wheels because I really dislike fake/phony/BS just for looks, but I like the rugged functional look. Probably make for the best looking 4dr Jeep PU I've seen (and the red paint)

Gotta love dogs! That reminded me of what my old wolfdog did once. My wife had partially unwrapped a cube of butter and set it on the countertop.
Turned away for a moment and heard his feet hit the floor. Dante was standing there with the wrapper stuck on the end of his nose. The butter was gone.

My buddy had a Samoyed. It stole a pie and ate it. And it ate the pie tin too. It was pooping out metal. Ouch!

Be careful what you wish for. I once said if we ever got another dog, it had better be self-cleaning so I wouldn't have to pick up after it. Then we got Dante, the wolfdog. When he was young, he would sometimes eat his own poop. Not good. I got some stuff to stop that nasty habit. It was supposed to make dog poop taste bad. Are you kidding me? You mean it didn't taste bad already?? Anyway that stuff didn't slow him down much. He finally outgrew it (mostly) and I stopped wishing for a self-cleaning dog. At least we knew where his bad breath came from.

Bad breath from the butt...er. :D

Our beagle/dachshund mix eats the other dog's poop, then comes in the house dry heaving. I was eating lunch one day and she came in and blew chunks under the table. I went into the garage so I could finish my lunch, then went and cleaned it up. Yeesh, poop-scented vomit. :(

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I was following the wife through Hobby Lobby a while back and strolled down the model kit isle where I found about $30 is the average price for 1/25th scale model cars now. I kind of hate to say it but I remember when I paid $1 to $1.50 for one and that was for an AMT 3 in 1 kit meaning you could build it stock, drag or custom or a mix of all 3.
I've got a '70 Chevelle SS kit in the closet I've been saving on for 15 years or so and figure I'll get around to it this winter, maybe. ;)

THIS is why I don’t like pets.

Unfortunately…

I’m married with 3 kids.

So we have a couple.

I don’t clean up a thing, that’s a hard line.

If I did, I’d be blowing chunks right next to it.

Then never get a German Shepherd puppy. They are great dogs but the worst puppies. A year later and they are fine. You just have to get though that first year of chewing and crapping in the house. (Maybe 2 years :o)

But he is good security. Nobody that doesn't know him gets near. If I didn't know him I wouldn't go near that little fence either. He goes psychotic with strangers. But my dumb friends can walk right in and drink all my beer. He could care less.

When I first moved into this house I had steaks on the grille. I had to run inside real quick. That's REAL QUICK, since I had steaks I didn't want to burn. I dart back outside and no steaks on the grille. Out neighbor's dog stole them both that quick. I hope she burned her nose. I got to know what my neighbor was all about that early when I told him what happened. "You shouldn't have left the steaks on the grille". What a genius? I had never thought of that. Since that day I have always taken my steaks off the grille during cooking to carry them inside if I need anything

I wouldn't sell my Jimbo kit for under $100... but it's a sealed original 50 year old kit. I think the re-issue licensing adds to the cost of these re-issued kits. It's a new company formed to do it. It's great to see them come back but in today's world it shows how expensive life has gotten. Back in the day they were made to be sold to kids, now they are an adult specialty hobby so bumped up a bit extra. An old guy told me when I was young that I'd see the day a hundred dollar bill will spend like a twenty. Seemed so impossible, but I think we've passed that point. That $30 for a kit is about in line with what I used to pay in the '60s. But a dad could flip out the 2-3 bucks back then easier than the 30 bucks today. I used to combine multiple kits to build one. Then add the cost of all the paints. I wonder what those little Testors paint jars would cost today? You could have $100 into building a kit

I'll never buy any of these kits. I have some spares (newer re-issues) to build one day.

My old 68 Bug. I ditched the ugly white wheels in a hurry for the original two tone wheels and put pop out rear windows in it. It was a really clean Bug. Slower than cold molasses. It was bone stock.

It did have some cheesy aftermarket steering wheel too. I put that back to factory. The racing wheel didn't really fit with the vibe of the car. I wanted it 100% original. This is when I first got it. I bought it off an old dude. He took good care of it.

It's not the pen you use, it's how you sign your name

Maryland is a little state. It's entire southern border is the Potomac River from source to the Chesapeake Bay. It's source marks the farthest southwest tip of the state. A surveyed vertical boundary extends north to the border with PA (Mason-Dixon line). The Fairfax Stone, named after Lord Fairfax (VA), was set to mark this point and it was a forefather of mine who guided the survey party in the 1700s. It's also the same area where Maryland's highest point, Hoye Crest, is located on top of Backbone Mt.

Before the leaves came out last year my son and I visited these locations. For fun, I included a video from Pt. Lookout which is where the Potomac meets the Chesapeake Bay. The river becomes tidal at Washington, DC. There were four lighthouses on the lower Potomac. Imagine that, lighthouses on this little trickle of water to guide ships. Now we need to get down there to check that out. Like I said, a little state, but I have never been there

Fairfax Stone w/spring behind it:

Third marker for western boundary from the stone. Very near Hoye Crest:

I apologize for the sped-up driving at first. One thing I dislike that YouTubers do. Once he gets you at the point it goes to drone. The river is to the right looking out from the point

We went in to Ballard the other day and took a tour of the Theo Chocolate factory. Small compared to the big boys but still interesting. Most of their chocolate is on the darker end. They gave us lots of samples and a 20% discount at the factory store. You are allowed to take pics but no video. Older fella kept taking videos with his DSLR and was told to please stop several times. His wife said he was only focusing in. Tour guy said … Well he is panning around and I can see the red recording light on his screen. Very odd experience to see this guy so blatantly ignoring. Was a small group of 8, hard to get away with stuff. I don’t have any pics, just a video .. haha, kidding. Couple of pics from the net.

From there we went to the Ballard Locks, not the official name, but most call them that. I didn’t take many pics but here is one from the fish ladder viewing windows on the side of the locks.

I have never heard of Theo Chocolate. I'll have to look into that. The small operations are all I care about. Nestle makes chocolate as well as owns half the food and beverage companies out there. I don't have to have chocolate, so I want good chocolate from a company focused on that. We have a couple companies like Theo Chocolate in Baltimore. Reb's is one. I was disappointed to see a candy shop in an old house along the Old National Pike on the way to Ellicott City is closed down. Probably the same story, got old and no one wanted to take it on. The sense of continuum is not so strong with younger generations.

That video I posted will play if you click the title up top. It plays it opens YouTube and plays it there

I wanted to show this picture taken near Hoye Crest and Fairfax Stone. The intersection of US50 and US219 in Maryland. They call US50 the loneliest hiway out in the west, desolate for long stretches. They say not so true back east, and that is true. US50 runs straight through Washington, DC, across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and on down to Ocean City, MD. Plenty of people, but you won't see many here at Red House. I've pulled over to eat lunch before and never saw another car.

Looking north and looking east toward Backbone Mt. The hiway runs over top of Backbone into the Potomac Valley. Beautiful views!

I'm not so sure about the younger generation A young guy bought the little market by me and he drives from Bakersfield up and down the canyon.(about an hour each way) and works 7 days a week. All day. Every day. He's always there. I can't imagine working that hard. And that drive is a rough one. Maybe some young entrepreneur will get that candy shop back in action.

That chocolate factory brings me back to my old meter reading days. I read the meter at a chocolate factory and the smell was pure heaven. The other one was a granola factory. I'm no big fan of granola but whoa that place smelled good.

My latest. I had to plug in my phone and of course all the plugs were taken. So I see this night light taking up two outlets. I don't need a night light so I yank it out.

What I didn't know that it was also a candle air freshener. My wife put it there. I pull this thing out and my hand is covered in hot wax. :ack:

My wife made fun of me and told me that I should have known. I ask you. Does this look like a candle or a night light? It looks like a night light to me.

I burned my hand, got called an idiot, made a mess, and all I was trying to do was plug in my phone.
