I put the seat and door panels back in the truck. I kept the original vinyl on the seat and sewed in new plaid from SMS. While it was apart we added a little new foam to the sagging ends. It sits like a new seat. Also re dyed the door panels.

Had new door panels made for it along with the vent window delete which is a very rare opition on these trucks! It's almost as rare as the corvette engine mod. I bought a clear shower curtain and put it on the door behind the new panel to keep the moisture out. I hope it works. :chevy:

Patched the speaker holes from the PO behind the seat. Still have holes in the doors to do. Must have been an awesome system, Kraco cassette player and 4 Kraco speakers!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Speaker repair turned out great ,Kraco was top of the line Kmart though way back when ,LOL.

I completed a little dash upgrade project, painted the plastic hugger orange to match the dash and converted the gauges to white face. I paneled the gauge pod with a 1/8" thick piece of zebra wood. I am happy with the result, will eventually make a zebra wood panel for the glove box door.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got frustrated putting in my signal switch and after all the hard work brake lights still not working. Discovered po jacked up wiring under the dash. What the heck do they be thinking? Leave the original stuff alone. Hopefully I don't have to spend too much time tracing the problems. Sometimes things like this make you want to throw in the towel. Lol

If someone would have told me it would 5 days to cut, dado, router, drill, mock up install, reinstall, reinstall then get my custom 68' short wood bed on the frame ( after lifting it off to drill the gas filler hole) i'd say they were crazy. not anymore..

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Last night - cleaned out my buddy's garage (moved his jeep out, and equipment) got the C10 on the lift and took wheels off to start replacing brake cylinders, he's going to work on that this week while he is "slow" on other work, hopefully have the exhaust put in this week!
Got my insurance on it this morning and getting ready to head to DMV to get tags - woohoo! here's some pics of the original bed and tailgate, then the replacement I found for $200! I didn't realize it had an original wood bed - the plate steel has always been in it as long as I can remember, when we lifted it up to do the brakes, some of the wood fell down, it's almost like one of those house shows where they pull the carpet up and "hey you have wood floors!" - only problem here is that I can't simply remove the covering and be done! My friend said something to me a few weeks ago about how my grandpa put that in, because there was some ply-wood under the steel that was rotted, upon closer inspection last night we realized it wasn't plywood but the original wood floor. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psz8mqjjwi.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...pscv8thrkn.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psrcdrh9rv.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psqur3qggg.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...pswre52xaf.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psydkayy2u.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psukbq7ujw.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psj0p3y30x.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...psbhd0mnav.jpg |

Yea it's pretty loud. I'm gonna make some baffles to slip inside. I drove it around for quite awhile with a very similar setup back when I first got it running.
