They are made by Sisco's Fab, waiting for the ones we are going to use to get here now

Hmm. Got a hold of them today. Says they only have them for 73-80. What kind of mods need to be made to make them work?

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

That is correct , I am using the early front end and no mods they just bolt in the factory bolt holes

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

So an 87 cab. Older front clip. Don't the older hinges go down into the cowl part of the cab. The 81 and up hinges bolt directly to the fender. Im asking cause I have an 83 and trying to figure out my options for the hinges.

The earlier ones bolt to the fenders too. They just use that big-o coil spring.

Dude, there's always Kickstarter. How many private cats can say they've had 2 inside cars at sema at the same time? Can ES kick in?

Mike I saw the hinges on their F/B page. It doesnt show or say much about them other than the few pics there. Do they use a strut or a prop? Can you show a pic of them mounted?

It was hard blocked with 1000 grit then on a medium block hit with 1500 and 2000 grit.. Then just to make buffing easier on a DA with a interface pad I run 3000 and 5000 grit over it..

These are just the mock up set I have here at my shop but they just fold over on its pivot point and holds the hood open and they actually work pretty good..

No fuss, no muss and it bolts in without cutting? Even better than using a strut since its cleaner and cheaper. Do you think it would be an issue with gusty winds causing them to close?

screaminchevypickup 10-14-2013 02:38 PM

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

Yes they are a bolt in hinge.. It would be really hard for the hold to blow shut because you have to give it a small lift to get it back past it's break over point..

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

Sweet. Now if I can get the guys at Sisco's to respond I may have found a solution for my worn hinges.
