72 cummins which model did you use!!!??? I talked with them and they told me I would have to order the ford center and fabricate my own brackets! So I ended up buying a blue diamond and am going to have to modify it.

Tonight was a successful night. It's funny how it goes. One day everything you do takes forever and the next things just sort of fall into place. I was able to build my rear upper shock brackets (to move it up and back) and modify my bed cross sill (spot welded in) to allow clearance for my gas tank. I had a differnt take on the upper shock mount brackets. I used the originals, cut them up and welded them to a piece I had cut out mounting the gas tank. It allowed me to move the mount point 1.75" up and 4.5" back. The shocks will nearly mount in a vertical position. I also moved a frame cross sill that was not square. It was driving me crazy. Each time I walked by the truck it looked like it was leaning to one side. Measured the frame to floor and it is only off 3/8". It was the frame cross sill the panhard bar is mounted to. The passenger side was 1.75" farther to the rear that the drivers side. Removed the rivets (have I said how much I :censored:HATE rivets ) and squared things up. I welded it into place and also welded the main cross sill while I was at it. That should stiffen things a bit. Now it's time to take it all apart, clean it up, prime and paint. While my son is home over spring break we will stand the bed on it's front so I can finish the work on that, prep/prime and paint the bottom. Progress!

Nothing big. I drove it ... with no particular place to go. Great weather today. Ended up in a state park beside the river. :chevy:

Tried to get the back wheels centered in the wheel-wells, but it was a no go. I guess when you lower these "bad-boys" the triangulation of the trailing arms pushes the wheel centerline backward in the wheel-well.

I stole my wife's "minivan" to go pick up my new Transmission. I had it delivered to work to save some cash.

Put a heater blower motor in. The third trip to the parts store, I finally got a good motor. The first one I brought home squealed worse than the old one. Took it back they didn't have one, had to drive to another town to get one.

Bought a unknown turbo 350 from KrazyRay and when I took it apart it was a fresh rebuild!! The guys next door to my work at Lodi Transmission gave me all new gaskets and seals. So for a total investment of $10 I have a completely rebuilt transmission to go into my truck!! I am so stoked, thanks to board member KrazyRay. He is a super nice guy and awesome to deal with I suggest you look into what ever he is selling, you won't be disappointed.

Exhaust mock up. I really do not like the ball and socket flange. The plan was to do the exhaust with out welding.

Pulled the grill off for paint and decided to do something a little different (also a good excuse to paint that rusty center support), giving flat black a try. I'll get it on tomorrow to see if I like it, or just gave myself something to do next weekend??

I used a ECE 4.5/6 & after reading a bunch of posts on this site It went on easy as pie. I think the hardest thing was the first rivet on the shock brackets that had to come out.......Even cooler went with my son on a truck hunt and he came home with a 69 c10 that even had the original manual and protecto plate in the glove box.

I got my new door handles installed. It was a very simple job other than having to drill out 3 screws on my drivers door panel.

Yesterday I took out my old carrier bearing crossmember, and put in the "new" one on my C-30.

Today, I found an original tach dash at a yard sale for $40!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

This weekend i installed exhaust manifolds, hooked up exhaust pipes. Installed starter and wired starter and new mallory distributor and coil. finished hooking up brake lines and installing new master cyllinder. Talked to a friend and decided to go with a later alternator with the voltage regulator within. We are thinking about a 1978 or 80 alternator should do it. The rear drive shaft was installed and now I am waiting for a delivery from LMC to finish cab and exterior lights. I purchased a nos rubber mat on ebay a while ago and come to find out it is a low hump mat and I need a high hump floor mat. I will need to sell the one I sold. Sorry for running on, but much was done and I will post pictures soon.

Working on a budget... Was able to save the drivers inner fender and support by cutting out the rust and fabbing in some metal. Started on the rear wheel also with help from a donor. Thought it turned out ok considering. Saved some cash too..

I did the best looking mod for my engine yet. Installed the core support covers. Replaced my stereo.

Truck is almost done. Need to waterproof it a bit more and thats about it. During the summer im going to repaint a few small areas that only seem to bug me. lol. Now if it would stop raining 24 hours a day 7 days a week. damn.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Made some more progress on my 200-4r install today.
Would of finished and started Pressure testing, but I found that my "new" drive-shaft is 1" to short.
Sure it would move the truck, but the slip yoke is out 1.5" and I'm not willing to take any chances.
So I will dop it off to get re-tubed & balanced tomorrow.
Current drive shaft length 60" need to be 61". (this is just the shaft not including the slip yoke.)

This is what I DID get done today.

:) Finished plumbing cooling lines

:) Installed the TV made EZ kit

:) Installed the brake pedal lock up release switch

:) Installed and calibrated the Trans dipstick tube

:) Installed and calibrated custom shift linkage

:) Installed the trans temp gauge.

Full details will be in my Photo build thread

Drove it to work after spending the last 6 months making it a short box. Woo Hoo! Alignment (Les Schwab) Friday and exhaust (Jeff @ Dan Fast) Saturday. OK I guess "I" didn't do that to it but I've done everything else!
