Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Bed floor looks great, Chris!
Hard to believe its the same truck that had the OBS sports side bed  |
Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Ha ha. I looked back at the first page. I forgot it was a Wrong Bed when you got it. The bed is looking good.

A little POR-15 action on the red oak tonight. The wood is getting the Mar-K ‘forever’ treatment: https://www.mar-k.com/_assets/images.../woodtest2.pdf I was planning on a flat finish for the final coat, but the glossiness of the POR has me rethinking that maybe for a satin

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
I plan to do the same & hoping for a Satin finish.

Used my square drill bit to poke holes in the flanges of the tubs. I’m liking how this is turning out; now time to get some color on them :chevy: |
Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Looks great. What exactly does a square drill bit look like? ;)

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
That looks awesome.

Very nice! That’s the route I’m planning to finish my bedwood. I love this look!

Since you like working so much I have an idea. Take an old tailgate and section up the inside of it. Then cut yours up and build your tailgate so the factory lines aren't cut in half by the raised bed floor. Hey you are the one doing all the work and we like to watch. Lol

While the rear tubs are off getting powder-primed, I started goofing with the hvac. Didn’t get far other than pulling the unit and enlarging the firewall holes for these billet trim rings. I’m not in love with them, but they’re definitely better than plain sheetmetal holes. Thinking of painting them my favorite shade of VHT... |

You're doing amazing things with that truck, Chris. I'm in awe. Please never finish it. ;)

Well, the ac unit is back in with the bezels in place. Don’t look too close though, because the paint bubbled and cracked around them... Oh well, I don’t have time to tear the whole business apart and repaint the firewall, so on to the next thing. Hopefully getting the wheel tub in place will make it not so obvious.

The picture is dark, we can't see anything bad. Besides, I know a guy.
