This is the sunk in place I mentioned before on the bedside adjacent to the fuel door. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02239.jpg Cutting the outer skin. The tape running thru the opening is my cut marks for the inside. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02240.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02241.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02242.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02243.jpg Got to shorten the fill tube http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02244.jpg Got to fix this screw up. Most of it is my fault, but not all. The filler neck was supposed to be on a 45*. Assuming caused the height problem. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02235.jpg Shannon is helping me out here. He made a template out of stainless (since he extra) to mock up. He doesn't have but a little bit of aluminum. This is the way I wanted it to look. He is gonna do me up an aluminum piece and Tig it in for me. Thanks Shannon!! http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02237.jpg |

I've been messing with my 64 too much. I did work on my front end a little. My dash is welded in and mudded. I don't like the squareness of the center part. I'm thinking I'm going to cut a pipe in 1/4 and use that to round off the bottom.:uhmk: Did I tell you my legs hurt.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Looking good Alan. I'm glad that the filler neck mock up went well. I'll get the aluminum tube cut up today.
Also, I've got one of Ron Covell's welding dvd's here at work that I refer to from time to time with the shop guys here, I'll burn you a copy of it.;) |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
[QUOTE=Alan's Classic;3855478] I've read about people blogging for a living. It takes awhile to get the followers then the advertisements come. I don't know the ins and outs, but will check into it.
I agree. I think the blog idea would be the cheapest route for now until something else better comes along. We will see. Just got to find someone that has a clue about it. Yeah I wonder how that works. Do people have to pay to join the blog? BTW nice work. :metal: |

I don't think people pay. The money comes from the people putting ads on your site. They pay you for letting them put their ads on your site. I can see it now kinda like Rosie doing body work on old trucks.http://www.rosie.com/blog/:lol::lol::lol: Ok now I can go eat my lunch. Funny, I'm not that hungry any more.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
This the flangeing tool that I used to flange the opening so the new panel will fit flush in the hole. I tried something different by editing the pic and typing on the pic. The fonts were bigger in the edit, but are not showing up as well here. Too much trouble to go back and fix since I over wrote the original pics.
http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02251.jpg It's hard to see the flanged edges, but they are there. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02252.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02253.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02254.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02255.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02256.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02258.jpg Shannon hooked me up and welded my the new filler tube in. Thanks Shannon. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02247.jpg 1.5 hrs today |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Looks good Alan. I always save the edit as another file first. I put like -1 after the file.

Got the inlet tube worked out, I think. Get it tacked then figure out the vent. The pipe diameter is 1" at the narrow part. I thought about just getting an 1 1/2" pipe and weld it on where it necks down. Don't know just yet what I will do. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC02266.jpg 1.0 |
