What size generator do you have? Is it capable of running the entire house or is it just for running a few circuits? What's the fueling source? We have been thinking about purchasing one as well. We are on propane here with only a 120 gallon tank. I know we'd need a larger tank.

I replaced the blend door actuator on my daughters Jeep Wrangler. It wasn't throwing heat out of the vents, actuator worked sporadically. Thanks to You Tube we saved a couple hundred labor costs and the part was only $30. This old coot is kind of sore this morning from being a contortionist under that dash!

It's a 13kW and it runs the whole house. The Generac website doesn't list a 13kW anymore but there is a 14kW that didn't exist three years ago. There are several other sizes too, of course. It will run on either natural gas or propane, but our county has no natural gas so we got a 250 gallon propane tank. (That's the only thing we have that uses propane.) It came with a transfer switch so everything is automatic.

If I can answer any other questions, I'll give it my best shot! Oh, almost forgot -- there are at least a couple units that have an engine with hydraulic valve lifters, so no adjustment is needed. Ours is one of those :) but unless things have changed, many others need valve adjustment. Not sure how often but manuals are available online and most info is available on the site.

I went to Costco and ordered some new glasses. Also enjoyed a 1.50 Costco dog and soda.

Do you Like Costco?
A Costco is in the works / less than an hour away from me soon.

I do not like the Sam's place (which is similar To Costco)
because some things are a good deal,
Then the popular stuff They Jack the price Up :uhmk:
Because everyone thinks they are in Bargan Land

Time will tell;)

Those dogs are good. They also have some darn good pizza too. When I'd go there and grab a bite the place was full of high school kids ditching the school cafeteria. I can't say that I blame them. Back in my day it was Jack in the Box that we'd all go to.

I don't go to Costco. Not a fan of their business model. Price isn't everything. Others will not agree but I don't care. I have my reasons.

I amended a handicap entry I built last May. The guy hasn't recovered from a broken leg so well, or maybe it's other issues that cause him to fall and break his leg. He was having trouble (using a walker) stepping up off the concrete porch, about 7", over the doorsill. I built him a gentle slope, same pitch as the ramp. Always nice to get a one day start to finish job. I had pictures and notes from last year, so didn't need to run down to take a look. Not the fanciest job I've done. The son will sell the place when his dad passes and in that area the house is considered a "Teardown". The lot has more value than the home

Nice work on the ramp:metal:

My wife bought me a miter saw at Sam's for a Present years ago.

Well it was only a miter and not a compound miter.

So I returned it.

When I got the money back I went to the Home Box store and bought one.

I had a lot of extra cash to buy something else:lol:

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Monday night it snowed, that heavy wet type stuff. We didn't get a lot, but enough and the roads were slick. At 0830, the doorbell rang. Cursing under my breath, I'm wondering what this person wants at that time, not to mention I really have no neighbors close by.

Open the door, a sheriff's deputy is standing there. Now I'm thinking, "Oh great. What's happened how?"

He tells me that some 17 year old had slid off the road, gone over the guardrail and down the embankment, into my pasture. He took out about 30' of fencing. So, I spent the afternoon fixing that.

What really kind of fries me is that the kid was sitting in his parents' car and didn't even bother to get out and say anything to me. I had walked to the end of the driveway with the deputy. The first thing I had asked the deputy was, was the driver ok. Where's the common courtesy these days? Had I been the kid, I would have gotten out of the car and apologized up and down for what I had done.

I made it back to work today. Stomach flu started Sunday night. It was brutal, but feeling pretty good today. I lost 7 Lbs. My wife dodged the bullet thank goodness, she did a good job taking care of me.
On Saturday we took a class so we can apply for our pistol permit. I had never even held a weapon before.

Been working in my garage getting ready for a productive spring and summer out there (right lol). Fixed my bench drawers. Put a new upper shelf with storage bins I got from a closed hardware store. Got the wood and shelving from Lowe’s culled pile. I think it will hold ok. Shelf sits on an 8ft ledger board that is screwed in to the studs with three inch screws. There are four large shelf brackets. The shelf is screwed to the top of the ledger board. The metal part of the storage bins are screwed from the inside to the studs on the wall. Used anchors where there were no studs. And screwed the rear bottoms through the shelf into the ledger. Feels pretty sturdy to me haha, plus I’m not putting heavy stuff in to the bins. Need to finish trim and stain black. I’ll put new labels on once I figure out what’s going in the drawers.

Before and now pics …

Very nice although I wouldn't want to throw darts anywhere near those magazines. If you saw me play darts you would understand. I like the old hemi valve covers. Heck I like it all. Very cool setup.

Thanks for the kuddos guys, but we all know in a shop cleanliness is temporary ha!

Still more work to do though. I got that cool metal pegboard leftover from a work project. I had four outlets and hardwire for my laptop before. I eliminated two outlets and the computer. Wi-Fi works just fine. Do t need four outlets on an Eight foot bench. But I did add that extra piece that has swivel outlets and usb charging

Paul those are just copies of covers. I sort of decoupaged them to the wall with watered down Elmer’s glue … worked great.

Great idea. But still don't invite me to play darts. People scatter when I pick darts up. I can hit everything but the dart board.

Actually my workbench has been good and clear (almost) since I put it back in the barn after moving it. Come to think of it, I haven't really done anything on the workbench to create a mess. That should explain that!

Today I took My Jaguar in to smog it and get some things done. This isn't going to be pretty. So I am sitting here waiting to assume the position for when the bill comes.

Getting new tires. I got a good deal on some sweet original rims. I'm losing the wide wheels on it. I don't like how they ride and I just don't like them. Brakes and alignment and a new grille. The one on it looks weird. I got an original chrome one. So it "should' ride better, look more of how a Jag should look IMHO and have license plates on it finally.

Finally unloaded the pics off my good camera, but all the cleaning paid off, the 2 cars looked good in the Portland Roadster Show. The custom is a hall of fame car so was just on display, but always fun talking to people trying to figure out all the modifications. The Camaro was right at home in my Camaro Clubs display. Car ended up coming home with a 2nd place in Restored 61-69. Pretty good for a 15 year old restoration and lots of miles on it at this point.

In the 70's today and a sunny day . I'm going to cut the grass for the first time this year . It's time for a new mower Yhe one I have now has seen better days but it's always a challenge to see if it makes it through 1 more year ...

Mowing grass doesn't bother me because it feels good keeping the place up. It does suck that once the weather starts getting nice and the days long, and you feel like you'll be getting so much more done, it hits me that one evening a week will be tied up with this chore that doesn't exist all winter. I'll wait at least till Easter. I still have early flowers that come up in the grass that haven't flowered out yet. I mow around them the first month. Once they're done flowering a while I'll mow over them

What I did since Thursday is set up at a local swap meet Thursday, sell stuff a couple days, and pack up at 2 today. I have never set up at this one. Only go to buy usually. Just one 10 x 10 space. This place is 15 minute from home, very convenient. I was on an end row, so I had chairs against the wall across the aisle and today I had friends stop and hang out while I tended from afar. I had a great time!

First picture is early this morning from one corner. My space is second one down on the outside

Just came in from my "March Auto Madness". Did LOF & tire rotation on the Montero (stupid skid plates). LOF & tire rotation on the '70 (so easy). Did LOF, air filter, tire rotation on the Tahoe. By the time I got to the tires on the Tahoe, I was pretty wore out. Used the old shovel lifting trick to lift them up. Tomorrow I've got the tractor and the lifesaving Generac to do. I drove through Burger King today and got 2 "Classic Melts. I had been running errands all morning and I was starving. I just wanted something fast because I wanted to go home and eat quick.

So I order them with extra 1000 Island dressing... They're out of 1000 Island.
Fine... I have Bobs at home Ill just slap some on.

I get to the window and ask for Ketchup... They're out of Ketchup too.

How does Burger King run out of Ketchup? They're right next to Vons and I was just there. Vons had plenty of Ketchup and 1000 Island. So I say whatever, I've got Ketchup at home too.

I get home and the "Melts' aren't melted at all. The bread isn't even grilled. It looked like it just came out of the package.

So I got dry burgers with cold cheese. Not like the pretty picture in the window.

So much for a fast bite. I waited in the drive thru for 10 minutes and I was the only car there and had to fire up my grille and "fix ' the burgers when I got home.

Oh man. That sounds like some of my recent experiences with fast food here. A while back I stopped at a Sonic for a fast burger. I asked for a regular cheeseburger with mustard and ketchup only. When delivered I drove off as I was short on time. When I opened it and took a bite I found a bun, mustard and ketchup. No cheese or MEAT! I kid you not.
Just a day ago I stopped at Wendy's and ordered a baked potato and burger. When he handed me my order it felt lite so I peeked in and there was a
burger, no potato. I asked where's my tater. The girl said she didn't hear me ask for one. I said that's the very first thing I asked for. "oh, sorry" as she quickly turned away. The guy quickly got me fixed up but man. They weren't rushed as I was the only one at the driveup. It's the same old same old now days. Ask for corndogs and get just that, you have to ask for mustard and napkins.

I don't eat at drive-thru burger p[laces, except maybe when traveling and time is tight. If I was going to take a drive-thru burger home before eating, I'd drive on by, get home sooner, and slap a delicious sandwich together real quick. My kitchen stays fully stocked with delicious foods. I'm never out of condiments. My 92 year old mom says she's never seen anyone keep so many condiments. I told her that's because I don't know how to cook and I use condiments to make food edible

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

(2) recent experiences in the past week had me saying "What the Hell?"

Went to a Red Robin Friday for The Queen and I to split one of their thick juicy bacon cheeseburgers and endless steak fries. I understood the long wait for grub as the place was packed and understaffed...like most food joints these days.

The burger wasn't thick, or juicy. But, the steak fries held up to standards.

Went to a Chiloso earlier last week after our oldest Grandson's high school soccer game. I always get a burrito bowl. If you're not familiar, you move down the line selecting the ingredients you want. The 1st item is the meat. I picked taco meat. The server put such a small amount of meat in the bowl I had him ad more and it still wasn't as much as they always did before. That's comparing two locations. To top it off, The Queen really likes their Chicken Tortilla soup...sub-par this go round.

We don't have a nearby Burger King but, I found myself at one a couple of weeks ago. Its been a couple of years, I think. I was disappointed to find the Whopper seems to have lost its Whop. Nothing special and looked to be smaller than I remembered.

Wendy's prices are WAY up but, the items don't seem to have changed much. So, locally, I would have to say for fast food burgers...Our Texas based What a Burger is still the best.

I seldom go thru the drive thru. Even if I am taking food to the house or office. It has been my experience that your chance of getting a correct order greatly improves when ordering inside. The exception is Chick Fil-A. Their orders and service is always top shelf.

Sounds like you know how to cook to me. Quality ingredients and spice are all it takes. When I was a kid we had salt and pepper. That was it. No wonder my moms food was so bland and not so good.

Fast food is for what it is. Good in a pinch. Or maybe not...
