Mee too please

I have come accross some cruise parts, but am missing the transducer, and am strill wondering what is correct for installation.

I heard it was never factory installed, but there was a GM accessory kit which probably specified where to put the parts.

I have some pictures I collected of the parts ( lever, harness, etc) if you want to vieew them. Just let me know.

Mine is so original; I wonder if there is anyone out there that can service and re-build these so that it is restored correctly?
The diaphram boot inside I think usually breaks, like on Tri-power set-ups.
I am going to have to be really careful when I remove this thing!

700r4

Has anyone ever installed one of these with a 700r4 behind a big block?

Chance

That looks to complicated, just put a brick on the gas pedal.

The CC cable usually is either right below the gas pedal cable's stud on the linkage arm and having the extended stud out about 1/4" past that.I would need to look again but I think yes it is possible! Yes!

I always think of a loaded C10 700R4 with CC on 82-86 Chevy V8 applications!
Caprices are very similar!
I usually base my application upgrades on these!
The CC stud stands out farther than the studs for the gas pedal cable and the TV cable. This gives you a better connection for instalation needs!
GM thought that one out well!

Anyone got a spare manifold bracket / cable?

This is all really great info., but can I ask if someone has a manifold bracket and secont throttle cable to the servo the want to sell?

RPOZ11 09-07-2005 08:49 PM

Manifold bracket? The one at the rear of the carb for the cable?

Here are the rest of the install directions, happy to share them. Sorry for the crappy sized images, hopefully they will help.

I just took one off my 72 marked "dana" could this be factory? The box with the speedo cables is more of a rectangle than in the pics but every thing else looked the same.

Longhorn Man 10-09-2005 09:56 AM

Do any of you have the speedo cable from the treansducer to the speedo head?

RPOZ11 10-09-2005 01:47 PM

yes! its still assembled on my truck...did you need a pic of it?

Longhorn Man 10-09-2005 02:35 PM

Well... actually I need one...I shoulda said that.

Dana

72Jimmy - I believe the units marked DANA are aftermarket. I have several of them on 73 & up trucks. I also see them on Chrysler Corp pickups and vans. I don't normally look at F*rds so I couldn't tell you about them.

will this work?

Longhorn Man 10-09-2005 08:36 PM

How long is it?
Also, can't tell from the pic, is one end smaller than the other? (the part that you spin on)

RPOZ11 10-09-2005 08:48 PM

LongHorn DUDE:
What is the direction on this that you are trying to achieve?
Do you need a cable?
so that you can find one in a yard or something????

Longhorn Man 10-09-2005 08:52 PM

No, I need one for my truck.
The short cable on mine snapped a couple weeks ago at the begining of a road trip.

RPOZ11 10-09-2005 09:20 PM

is it the cable you need? or is the jacket housing broken too?
