Big 2.5" Vette Ram Manifolds---Fit 2WD! and 4WD

4 Attachment(s)
I have been doing some special fitting on these, for those of us who do NOT want to run headers, but do want better flow from ramhorns. We know these have been a good upgrade for 4WDs, in the past, but not 2WDs. They wouldn't clear the big crossmember under the engine or the starter on 2WDs.
The bend coming out of the straight down Vette rams has to be real tight to clear and muffler shop machines can't do that bend without flattening the pipes.
So, you have to use mandrel bent 45 degree pipes and really shorten the upper part of the bend. The flares have to be welded on because the machine can't flare that short of a pipe...I didn't say it was going to be real easy.
We almost have it now. The answer to the stock starter clearance is using a late model/common 350/4.3 mini starter.
I sell the manifolds, new in the box, for $130 delivered, if you want to DIY. You chase down all the small parts & weld...OR (you know there would be an OR...)
I can provide the fully prepped package (without starter): $330 + shipping
1. Manifolds fully prepped: ends cut off, dressed surfaces, blasted, & baked on high temp paint (no guarantees, but better than raw cast surfaces).
2. Gaskets, flanges, high temp flange seals, & studs.
3. 45 degree mandrel bent aluminized pipes with welded flared ends.
...and here's some pics...

Just thought I'd help you out an give praise to these. I have experience with these manifolds (circle track when manifolds were required in certain classes)and can't say how much I like em'. I have seen cases were these actually perform better than some headers. Very good deal IMO buyers will be happy.RJ22:metal:

I will offer free studs and gaskets with the bare manifolds for the same price: $130 pr delivered

NOTE: The bare manifolds do not include any pipes and have no prep work done to them...

How much for a set of manfolds with prep work completed? ie, ears shaved and any cast welding needed.

Re: Big 2.5" Vette Ram Manifolds---Fit 2WD! and 4WD

since I have a 68 k-10 w/ the alt mounted to part of the driver manifold can I run these? $130 shipped to my door? Mine are frozen to the old down pipes and I don't want to run headers... Thanks. What about painting or ceramic powder coating them?

Re: Big 2.5" Vette Ram Manifolds---Fit 2WD! and 4WD

DP-There is no welding needed or done to the cast/manifolds...you just have to weld on the flares on the down pipes. Just cut off the ears and smooth the manifolds up with a hand grinder/sander for appearance. "DIY" and save.:)

MS-If you have holes in your heads, just run a 69+ alt brkt set...If not, you will have to get or make an aftermarket alt brkt. Yes you can have them ceramicoated or high temp painted. DIY and save.:)

Re: Big 2.5" Vette Ram Manifolds---Fit 2WD! and 4WD

I am not exactly sure on the quantities available, because these are a new release and we don't know what to expect on sales volume/action.
I am only buying one side from the Vettes (the best one with no heat tube) and using it for both sides of our trucks. I warned them that I would be breaking up their pairs, so I hope they don't run out or make price adjustments!

Folks, having done some research on the 2.5 Corvette Ramhorns I can tell you this is a smoking deal. I paid almost that much for "one" manifold, and that did not include delivery.

Hey guys, they work out great.

Just installed a set on my 4x4.
Frank is correct about the first bend, it was a tough one to work around.
I'd recommend getting the kit he's offering, it'll make the install alot easier.

Canadian: They have the standard SB chevy exh bolt pattern that fits all normal/regular SB engines.

1loc10: The exit pipes are 2.5'. Our stockers are 2"---BIG differece!

PayPal Address is: frankeham@comcast.net

NOTE: The gasket/stud sets I am including as a special bonus were originally for the stockers, so you do have to go to auto parts and get the big donut seals. I use the ones from '88 & newer because it is better material and has a stepped edge to keep it in place in the manifold. Much better.

can you show a set on a 2wd, i would like to see how tight it will be......and also to see how much room there is and if i need to think about ceramic coating for heat.

Here are some pics moched up on a 2WD with the motor in the tight forward position. There is good clearance around the mini starter.
4x4s in the rear position clear just like they did with the stock rams & stock starter.

Re: Big 2.5" Vette Ram Manifolds---Fit 2WD! and 4WD

my eingine is back in the 6cyl holes (didn't move it when i chg'd to the sb), so you are saying i will have more clr because i am farthe back on the saddle? so i can make a longer vertical drop before turning to the rear? and still use a std starter? if this is so, then it is a good thing that i used the 6cyl mounts and position! other than tight being at the hei cap ( about 1/2-3/4 clr of wall).
