Well let me look around here and see what I can find.
Found this 292 I-6………….. But I don’t think this qualifies for big and radical Guess I’ll keep looking |

For a second there, I thought you were going to say that someone STOLE your engine!!!
I was going to say - we hit an all time low! I imagine there are people stupid enough to do it though!:D |
Keep the 292 and turbo it, or run a centrifugal supercharger on it. Or you can just donate the engine to me. What year is the engine? A company is about to reproduce aluminum 12 port heads for the straight sixes. Should be some fun stuff. Or you could go with a fuel injected 302 along with a richmond six speed with 3.73-4.11 gears.
Or just stick with a moderate big block and FI. |

Well did more searching and found this in a GMC general with a Cummins 350 complete with turbo, Jake brake and 10 speed Eaton road ranger transmission. It does qualify for big but don’t think I could shoe horn that much in there. Not to mention it’s on an operating drill rig and the owner might object.
So the search continues…………. |
here's my new stocker

Guess I’ll have to settle for small.
I have this little 1 owner 69 Chevy 350 4 bolt main block just taking up space in the back of the shop. Looks like a good starting point. So the next question is mild or radical? |
So the next question is mild or radical?

OK I got called out to work so when I get back home I’ll finish posting the pics to bring it all up to date were the project stands. I was wondering what kind of suggestions I would get as the project progressed.
rage'nrat638 MILDLEY RADICAL I had that in mind when I started this project but it took on a life of its own I could hear it in the shop at night breathing. bpmcgee It looks like that one owner only did one oil change too. Looks like serious barbeque in there! Yep it had a rough life for the first 250,000+ miles it towed a camper for 21 years, the owner said he changed the oil once a year whether it needed it or not. If you do the math there is a lot of miles between them. Fred T How about going for 702 c.i. That’s cool, never seen one of them. I wonder how many of them are left, wonder if I can make it fit, wonder what kind of performance I can get out of it. (STOP IT I have to stop thinking like this is how you got your self in this predicament in the first place) |

Ok just like move magic or at least the cooking shows in 5 min. the roast is done.
After some major work at the machine shop along the lines of boring .030 over, decked, line bored, clearances for 383 stroker, honing, balance the rotating assy. and several trips thru the hot tank. Add an eagle 4340 steel stroker crank, H beam rods, SRP pistons, total seal rings, cleavite bearings, ARP studs for dang near every thing, and new freeze plugs. This is what it looked like when I brought it home. 1. |
