tuba trucks

morning all...
we started on a shop truck about 6 weeks ago. just needed a driver to run for parts and cruise about town. did the body work the first couple of weeks and sprayed a couple of coats of epoxy primer. then we built a fresh 283 to replace the old tired six. pulled the stick out and installed turbo 350. 2 weeks ago we got the logo on the doors and painted the grill and bumper. this past weekend the motor got broken in, redid the brakes and a lokar shifter was installed. so thats where we are now... not running but close. |
Re: tuba trucks
Nice and clean! :metal: I like the green engine against the black inner fenders. Good job.

Re: tuba trucks
Nice looking work truck
like Rian said you guys are so lucky getting parts and doing them in the uk is hard work but well worth it in the end |
Re: tuba trucks
Wow that looks great! I'm not sure what impresses me most - the wheel/tire combo, the neat and subdued detailing under the hood, or the door art. Nice decisions and execution all the way around!
|
Re: tuba trucks
Awesome. Heck it takes me weeks to change tires it seems. Years to put a project together. Hoping to put my new (to me) 63 back on the road in a couple months.

a whole lot less work but still a pretty good result. good luck with your project and keep after it... did a t-shirt this year of the logo, the one thats on the doors of the shop truck. it turned out pretty good and i stuck a couple in the inside of every hobby truck or car that showed up. last years t-shirt is kinda sentimental as it was the 'year of red'... here it is... |
Re: tuba trucks

i hope all you guys and gals have a very Merry Christmas and the new year is filled with happiness and success and good health.
stay safe and get out to your truck projects as much as you can. |
Re: tuba trucks
Thanks Clem.
Wish I had half your skills to get mine running. So far if I want to get my truck moving I have to find a really big hill. See ya in October! Merry Christmas |
Re: tuba trucks
Merry Christmas to you and Kim and the gang at Tuba Trucks!!! :ennyd:

I like those little touches. Regarding the shop truck bumper, it looks a lot like the chrome bumper I took off my truck, that I still love madly, but was never able to identify the origins of. The pic does not show the ends clearly, mine was neatly rounded, it was also cut on the tips to fit closer to the body. Any idea what era or truck it was from? It seems smaller and lighter than most "agricultural" sized bumper. Hope to hear from my contract agency soon about my travel vouchers so Martin and I can get the plane tickets booked to your shindig......!! Did I mention we are actually quite (VERY) excited about it all? |
Re: tuba trucks
Man I like this truck.

picked up a couple of new additions to the flock.
a pretty nice 63 custom cab with a near mint grill and bumper. it also had all four chrome caps that were very good as is the windshield stainless. from what i've heard from the 63 guys... that stuff is hard to find. unfortunately the last owner tossed the hood and put on repop front fenders, at least the original fenders are in the bed. its a V8 with 3speed and if it got a big window conversion it would be a sweet driver... also got a nice 65... |
Re: tuba trucks
looks like I should have wanted another day and would have went with you, looks great really like the new additions! a specially that orange 65, it sits just right!
want to thank you again for taking on my doors and getting them fixed for me! and also for lunch, when I come and get the doors I'm buying! |
Re: tuba trucks
Wow Clem!
Both of those look very solid! Great additions to the fleet! I very much enjoyed chatting with you today, I had no idea that we would talk so long! |
Re: tuba trucks
That's a couple of nice addition.
|
Re: tuba trucks
Both look real nice.
|
Re: tuba trucks
Man Clem, you make it hard on a man. That red 65 is just calling me LOL
|
Re: tuba trucks
Whew, I've pulled in a few trucks here and there but never two at once.
Totally diggin on those bumper guards. If ever you feel like gettin' rid of them can I be first in line? Now I have to keep adding to my collection. |
