Random pictures that you did not take.
I don't take a lot of pictures. But I find many other pictures interesting. What have you?
This is interesting to me. The Dwarves were a punk rock band in the 80's?? I don't know. The interesting thing to me is the little girl on the album cover. That happens to be my wife. That photo was taken for a religious pamphlet. The photographer had the rights and sold it and she ended up on an album cover. She didn't even know. And she doesn't have a tattoo on her arm. That was added. And she's quite a bit older now. Younger than me...But that aint saying much. I remember when the dinosaurs showed up thinking WTF are those things? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...00/Dwarves.jpg |

Wow that's crazy.

Interesting story, Paul! One of many from you. Still waiting for your memoirs to be published. The uncut version. :D

The funny thing about that album is that we were at a record store that sold used albums. (Rhino Records) and she just stumbled on it while going through old records. She looked me, pointed at it and said. "That's me, I remember taking that picture'. Sure enough, it was her. My wife was a child model and then modeled for years. So it's not surprising that old photo's pop up. She was in the business a long time. I made fun of her because the album was in the bargain bin and came close to getting punched in the nose. |

I have random pictures saved that I didn't take. Like this mayo. It's odd that McCormick, an age old spice company from Baltimore, would offer this mayo and as far as I know no others. Just mayo targeted for the Hispanic market with lime in it. I guess it's Scots-Mex food. Makes me wonder if they don't have a whole line of foods only sold in Central America.

Re: Random pictures that you did not take.
I've had that Mayonesa before. It tasted the same as regular mayo. At least to me.
Here's one from before my time. Hugh Hefner. 1960 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...medium/Hef.jpg |

Me no idea who took it. Funny my first real car was a 57 Chevy. Not a cool one like this though, mine was junky. No idea what year this was, born in 59.

Would that be a Cox gas-powered car? Uh oh, I happen to have some childhood pictures myself. But right now I want to share this wagon I just found on this local buy/sell FB group I just joined
$12,000 low mile big block a/c '66 Fury III Wagon for sale locally. |

But that's not a bad price for that car if it's as clean as it looks. Wagons are hot right now and that's a cool one. |

There's actually a house here in PDX that was actually painted with expired CAT equipment paint by a guy who worked at the local CAT dealer. It used to even have a Catapillar sign on the garage. |

What does expired CAT paint smell like?

Re: Random pictures that you did not take.
Back in '70-'71 there was a guy who cruised Van Nuys Blvd with an orange Gremlin. Factory 390 with a 4 speed. Nobody would race him more than once.

The Gremlin makes the list of the most butt ugly cars. Only topped by it's ugly siblings, the Matador, and the Pacer. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...um/Matador.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/data/500/Pacer.jpg For comparison. Why would you want one of these dogs when you could have one of those hot AMC's? :haha: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...hevelle_SS.jpg I don't know what they were smoking at AMC but it must have been some good stuff. What happened to them? They made the AMX for gods sake. One of the coolest cars around. Then cancelled it for that junk? I think that they whacked off one too many times and went blind. |

4 speed though. In 1974 he drove it to Twin Falls Idaho to watch Kinevil crash and burn on his attempt to jump the Snake River. That dirt ramp was still there a couple of years ago, but houses were creeping to it, so I don't if it's still there or not. |

My neighbor I had in the 80's had a Gremlin that came from the factory with a big Ford engine, it was something over 400 and all original.

Re: Random pictures that you did not take.
Gremlins came stock with nerds riding in them.
Speaking of ugly... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/data/500/Yugo1.jpg I think Yugo's got a bad rap. I had a friend that had one and she had 3 kids and packed them in a Yugo. She drove the wheels of that thing and she couldn't kill it. Her husband was such a cheapskate that he bought her the cheapest car he could. I disliked him. She finally divorced him. Who buys their wife a Yugo? I'll tell you who. A guy with a girlfriend on the side. That's who. |

I never thought the Gremlin was so ugly. I think they were ahead of their time. I always kind of liked them. They were AMC's answer for the shrink the car crowd buying European brands, same as Vega and Pinto (4cyl-only). They weren't trying to be sexy for that market. More like a bold new idea which VW and others followed into and the '80s. The Gremlin X was like the mini-AMX in my eyes. It wasn't trying to look like one but the proportions are similar. I have to agree the Matador and Pacer were some ugly designs. But the Gremlin has crisp sharp lines that go together. They just left the butt-end off

Re: Random pictures that you did not take.
Vega's were waaay better looking than Gremlins or Pintos. They just had crappy motors. Nothing that a small block couldn't cure.
I knew a guy in high school that had one. It was bronze with Centerlines and a small block. I still dream of that car. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...edium/Vega.jpg |
Re: Random pictures that you did not take.
I had a '72 Vega wagon with a 305SBC and a 350 trans. That thing was quick. My sister had a Monza with a 305. It was quick, too.
