Re: POST your 60-66 Panel truck only pictures
For anyone with a panel in resto stage with the rear floor made up of the individual planks-Please PM me if you are able to take any measurements of the plank width. I'd also like to see the under-floor support layout.

I was under the assumption that the panels had individual planks due to the installation of the metal slats. I was incorrect. I recently obtained a full set of the metal slats from a fellow in California and found the wood was also plywood. I will be doing individual planks in my suburban now..I've got the slats laid out where they'll be located and I will be doing lap joints or butt joints with a lap on the middle boards.. I'm still working on it and will take photos as I go.. Unfortunately the edges along the body are not perfectly straight and will require some massaging on the outer edges.. This won't be a totally straight-forward job.. |

Unless you look under the floor, from the top, they look like individual planks due to the metal strips. |

The gold version photos are from the 1980's, after I had owned it for about a year. From what I remember, that's what happens when you put a '64 - '66 front bumper on a '60 - '63. The bumper sits at an angle.
The white version photos are from the 1990's as you can tell from the side mirrors. It's been garaged for 20 years, Hoping and praying I'll get it on the road with some needed updates this spring. I'm gathering parts. Daryl |

Here is my 65'...the first pic is a combo shot when I just got it back from the painter. That is when I took ownership as well as this truck was started by a friend that had too many projects so I took this off his hands. Been sitting in the garage ever since while I collect parts, traded those Suburban seats for a pair of buckets, also got the various delete and cover plates for the back doors in the trade as well...had to throw in a nice truck bench seat though. This is an unusual Chevy panel with factory or dealer installed interior side panels instead of the bare bones look that these trucks usually have. Someone built a wood floor with a tapered frame to be flush at the back doors but gives a few inches of height at the front for a shallow storage area just behind the seats...you can just see the hand pull to open it up. Basically, the compartment houses the speaker wires for the rear speakers but could hold something shallow or short out of the way. I still need a good automatic column. It came with a 350 in it but I want to replace that with either my 283 or the I230 I have waiting for homes. jon
