It's about time for another project!! So I am stepping into this side of the forum TOPLESS!!! Picked this up the other day and am really looking forward to learning about Blazers as I did Pickups, frame off custom is my direction. All your wisdom and knowledge will be tested throughout my build as will your patience. My truck, Slick67, was totalled in October so I had to hold out till I found another project. So, here she is....keep the laughter to a minimum.

Sweet! I'd drive it just like that for a bit before I tore it down though. I don't think your bicycle will fit in the back though, you may have to bag a trailer to pull behind it.

Blazer looks nice and strait, White is great, but the purple on the bottom does'nt do it justice. IMO... ( Not bashing ) More photos of interior and under hood please. Happy NEW YEAR...

Good solid start. What insurance will you get on this one? (to soon? lol) Seriously, though, it gives one pause. I was really surprised that Haggarty cancelled you for bags and custom paint. What was up with that??

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

WOW!!!! Lot of interest in this build I see!!! Did not get to tear down anything on it yet. The body will be coming off the frame first, then starting on the chassis, this WILL happen next weekend. My parts from Slick are gone now so I can concentrate on the new project!!

Before you start ripping her apart, have you washed and waxed it yet? For the restore to be 20+? years old, it looks like whatever work was done has held up really well, therefore, looks like a great start to me. I'd have to roll in it a bit before I tore it apart.

It seems like I remember seeing that truck in magazines way back in the day... did the PO give you any history on it?

It's a shame the only usable panels from your truck can't be used on this

Definitely needs a 67 clip and some marker shaving ;)

I'm right there with ya Redneck! I'm washing it......with Aircraft Stripper!! I have done 2 or 3 trips around the neighborhood in it, trying to mark my territory. The PO is a non-gearhead and purchased the truck at GoodGuys in Ft. Worth 7 years ago, so he has no history on it. The paint on the truck was VERY sloppy but it did hold up and prevent some rust for sure. It was garaged for the last 7 years too. The hood is stock with the metal cowl induction molded in, I thought it was fiberglass at first. The rear springs were heated, but the front springs were actually drops. The Bestop that is on it is like brand new, too bad I won't be using it. :blah: Sorry, I got caught up in the moment.

Thanks everyone for coming by and saying hi!! All my old pals and new ones in the making!!! Should be fun, slow moving right now while I figure out how to completely ruin this little Blazer!! Pulled the interior.....or lack of, out and unbolted the roll bar, the paint removal has been my focus the past couple of days. Front end is gone and currently looking for a 67 clip....these pics are a week or two old so there really isn't any paint left on the rest of the body now.

Yep, placing my order in about 30 minutes!! My 67 is missed terribly and it sucks to see the bed sitting just a few feet away from this build.

I was able to get a little done to my topless tub this weekend!!! Pulled the top off, extracted the roll bar and made the engine and trans dissapear!! :metal: Moved on to the custom side of things after that. I laid the windsheild back a few inches and cut the top of the passenger door off to see what all needs to be done to get it flush with the rest of the body. PORTERBUILT EXTREME DROPMEMBER FRONT AND REAR ORDERED ALONG WITH ACCUAIR E-LEVEL KIT!!! YAAAAY!!!!!!
