Hey guys, how about posting some pictures of your tire/wheel combinations. I'm trying to decide what to run on the 63 and I need some inspiration. Be sure to list sizes, offset, etc...

not to take the tread but would of had to run spacers with those wheels anyways so just I just used adapters. the wheels are tight in the step side

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics
255/45-18 all the way around without touching a thing (well inside rear wells are pinched at the top)... The tires are rated for 180 mph..lol.. but they were the most reasonable I could find... 18" is the odd duck in wheels and tires it seems.
American Racing Torqlite wheels. I don't remember if they are 18 x 7 or 8... I think 7... This is an old pic... but wheels and tires are same... http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/CIMG4167.jpg |

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o.../untitled2.jpg if you go here http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_visualizer.asp click on the picture with the 57 chevy, a new window will pop up click enter there is a good selection of street rod wheels to look at on these trucks. |

I second John.. These are my two choices for the truck I am building for my wife.. I figured whatever I came across first for a decent price I would go with although I have now passed on a few sets of rallys so it appears I am looking for the slots.. Problem where I am is unless I buy something new all the slots I see up my way are 16.5's or 14's.. Very few 15's pop up forsale. If I had both as you I would keep them both and swop them based on my mood that month :) Reid |
Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics
My only problem is that if I decide on the slots, I`ll have step down to a 7 inch in the front for the disc brake widens the track by 3/4 inch each side which will put it into the fender.
|
Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics
i say go with the slots
whats wrong with the 7 in wheel on the front? |
Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics
I like them both, but would keep the slots if I coulld only have one. I'm polishing on a set for mine right now!

I'm running 16"x8" Mickey Thompson Classics with P255/55/16" tires. Plenty of clearance even with disc brakes and drop spindles.

I think my wheels are boring. The only real problem I think is they need to be a differnt color. I was either going to go with an off white or black. I think black without hub caps would look better.
