Brewing up some Pale Ale

So, the story goes like this. I buy this 24k mile 98 trans am that is a fun ride if all u want to do is go in a straight line. 500rwhp through a manual valve body th400. Total drag setup, not alot of fun on the street. Then to boot, I never felt it was mine, I didn't build the thing, not to mention, I'm a truck guy at heart. So I sold it.

After plenty of searching I thought I made the deal on a local 2wd Blazer that wasn't the condition I wanted, but hey, it was local. He backed out and I was back on the hunt. That's when I went back to one that had been sticking in head since I had seen it on eBay. cparman had planted the seed. I emailed him and he followed up with 91 detailed photos. Yes, 91, whoa. Chip is a thorough dude, thanks bro. These are a few of the pics that hooked me.

After 10.5 hrs one way, we took a thorough look on the ground and up on the lift, then a quick test drive. That was enough to seal the deal. U can see the smile on my goofy face lol. Oh Chip showed us the way to the beach too. Had to take a couple pics by the ocean being we had made it within 5 minutes from the end of America lol.

That was after 3 days of ownership. The appraiser came out and gave her the once over.

Had to yank the fender out to turn the wheel.

After a month of "negotiating", I came to an agreement with the ins co on a settlement. I could finally have the frame checked and get started. The frame was straight within factory specs and I drug her back home.

I doubt this build moves too fast, but the plans are to keep it yella (quickest way to get back rolling) full on to the metal color change may come later, but the Pale Ale is growing on me! I am taking advantage of the chance to swap to the front clip I've always wanted though. I've collected just about everything I need to complete the '68 conversion. I'm also going to revamp the suspension and a few interior areas that need some tlc. Looking forward to input from you guys to help me out as this is my first 67-72 model. Been dancing around getting one for years, by far my favorite body style of all time.

Man, that brought a tear to my eyes.

If that ever happens to mine, I hope the cops show up really fast! They would probably have to haul me off in a straight jacket! Was she texting?

Re: Brewing up some Pale Ale

Dune, it was ugly, lol. She stayed in the Armada with the door locked and window rolled up until the Trooper arrived on scene:devil: and no she wasn't texting, she was pulling out of a parking lot and looking over her shoulder at the traffic she was trying to merge into, but never thought to glance in front of her at the traffic she was crossing. ie, she never saw me!

Small. Crack in the paint happened during the wreck. Ended up being a little more than a crack with body filler removed.

What steering wheel is that you have in it? I really like it.

Not sure about the wheel. Was in there when I got the truck. The inner support ring is broke. Bought a billet replacement.

Re: Brewing up some Pale Ale

Too much stuff going on to really get alot done. Parts rolling in every day. But I have managed to get most of the front roughly fitted. Just bolted the hood on to see how it was gonna look. Didn't try to align it at all, but at least it's a little bit of an update.

Looking good Big, I eventually plan on 68' clipping my Blazer as well.

Re: Brewing up some Pale Ale

The 68 clip has always been my favorite and thought that one day I would do it, but wasn't planning on being this soon. Schwinn. I'm glad it was a woman that hit me, had it been a guy, it may have gotten ugly bro. Lmao
