Project: Shiro

This is chapter two in my C10 saga, a low mile (41,730) Arizona truck by way of SoCal. As we begin, the truck is intended to be my 14 y/o son's first ride and I think we have a very nice start. I must say thank you to board member jasonvw for all the hard work he has put into the truck to-date and for passing it on to us, THANKS BRO!! The truck is now on a transport making the 2,000 mile trip from California to Florida, and we can't wait to see it in person! We have chosen the project name Shiro, which is the Japanese word for the color white. I thought about using Shiroi Torakku, meaning white truck, but it is a little too much so we'll just go with Shiro. Here are a few pics jasonvw had in his Gumby build thread as well as one he sent me showing it on the truck.

WOW. Great score. I loved your last build and this looks even better. When it lands you have got to school us on the stance. Excuse me for freaking out but I have a 15" wheel fetish. lol.

At first we'll just detail the engine and engine compartment and drive it, then maybe some A/C before the summer.

If you ever decide to sell this one in the future,... make sure you contact me.
I like it just the way it is.
Even the 4-speed!

At this point it isn't going to be a major project, but a lot of folks wanted to keep an eye on it so I figured a build thread was in order.;)

Sure thing Keith, going to have to see what the boy thinks of it when it gets here. I kind of took a chance because it was just too nice to pass up. So, far he likes what he sees in the pics.

I really like the looks of this truck! Very much reminds me of a truck I put together and sold. Currently belongs to a friend of mine (and board member). Another truck I should have held on to!!

Giving credit where credit is due. He did a lot of work, a lot of tough elbow grease type work and he deserves the recognition.

I have been doing some poking around the internet looking at what can be done with a I6. Engineered Components Inc makes a cool A/C and alternator bracket setup, which I think is very probable if we install a Vintage Air set up. I have also been looking at transmission options. While my intent is to drive the truck a while to see how I and my son like the 4 speed, I figure I should checkout the options that are out there. I am curious about a 200-4r install behind an I6 in an effort to be able drive farther/faster. We'll see what materializes after we have had a chance to check it out!

That, looks a pretty coo setup.
