Camaro Caliper Brackets
4 Attachment(s)
I've contacted glock35ipsc and Bob says he doesn't plan to make more of these at this time. So I've done my CAD work and made a couple slight changes as you can see in the pics. They still function the same, I just didn't want to copy Bob's nice design exactly. The brackets are laser cut from 1/4" steel with the 1/4" spacers stitch welded onto the base bracket. These brackets fit the '64-'82 Truck 12 bolt and the '79-'87 truck 8.5" 10 bolt differentials.
The price on these with the hardware, is $137.50 plus $16.25 shipping via USPS Priority Mail which is 2 to 3 days delivery.. For payment I accept PayPal and money orders. If you would like a set, post in this thread, send me a PM or send an email to captainfab454@hotmail.com, and I will give you the ordering and payment instructions and current lead time. Updated pricing to include hardware and increased shipping cost is $137.55 The Satin Black powder coating is an additional $28.00 This pricing is always current and up to date. |
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
BTW that stack of washers on the caliper bolts is because I didn't have the right length 12mm bolts and I was in a hurry to take a pic. :o

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Do you make anything like this to install rear disc on a 67-69 camaro? Or would this bracket work on that rear too? Thanks:metal:
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
This set of brackets will only work with the truck 10 and 12 bolt differentials. The main difference is the bolt pattern on the axle tube flange. Also the Impala rotor is about .100" larger in diameter than the Camaro rotor. I replied to your post in my other thread.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
will you ship to Ontario Canada n0h 1g0

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I have 2 sets of these from john. Very nice quality and great guy to work with. Totally stand up guy and was fast on makeing them. Thanks John!!

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Yes I will. The total to you will be $127.00 USD shipped USPS as I normally do. That should be less $$ at the border for you than UPS or FedEx.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
What calipers are these? I assume that its the Imp SS rotor. E brakes? Thanks jay
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Anyone figured up how much a complete kit would cost?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
These brackets utilize the '94-'96 Impala/Caprice rotors and the '93-'97 F-body calipers which have a built in e-brake.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I bought my calipers from ls1tech.com guys are parting out cars and sometimes can get a good deal. i bought the calipers with brake lines and cables for 70 bucks shipped. All I need are shoes. Not too bad I thought!!

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Thanks for the tip Robert, that's good to know.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Just a question on these. Will it fit inside a 15in wheel with no problems?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I don't know for certain, but I would think 15's would fit. The rotors are less than 12 inch. If someone that has installed a set doesn't chime in here, I'll bolt up a wheel on my mockup. Which wheels do you have, stock or aftermarket?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I have a set of truck rallys on one and a set of corvette rallys on another.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Is it about the same price to do this disc conversion as replace everything on a drum system?
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I don't know just what the average total cost is for this rear disc brake conversion, but I'm sure it is more money than replacing everything in the rear drum brake system.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
I forgot to take a wheel with me this morning. I'll be sure and take one tomorrow and let you know.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
OK I test fit a 15 x 8, 5x5 pickup rally and it clears the Camaro caliper by a good 1/4". I really don't see any problems with 15" wheels on this rear disc conversion as long as the wheels are compatable with OEM disc brake applications.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
At $73.00 a drum (granted its for 4x4) It shouldn't cost much more.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
will these also work with c-clip eliminators?

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
It's been a long time since I've seen a set of c-clip eliminators. IIRC they bolt onto the axle flange on top of the backing plate? They would possibly work if you can get away with about 3/16" less axle spline engagement into your spiders. These brackets bolt on in place of the backing plates. Let me know.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
That is correct. The rear calipers from '94-'97 F-body and the rear rotors from a '93-'96 Impala/Caprice. I'm working on a parts list for this installation.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
just wanted to make sure they look like nice brackets I went a local yard today and found the front calipers and front brakes looking for the rears but my ? is aren't the camero's like a 4.75 or a4.50 lug
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Yes the F-bodies are 5 x 4.75. That's why you use the Impala/Caprice rotors which are 5 x 5. The F-body calipers will work with the Impala/Caprice rotors.
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
ok I see let me line up my parts and I will take a set of these also do you need to do a different dist block to level everything out
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
If you currently have a disc/drum proportioning valve, I would try it as first. Then if you need to reduce the rear braking bias, then install an adjustable valve in the rear line. Or if you prefer to not do that then you could install a disc/disc proportionining valve from the start. Let me know when you're ready.
BTW whereabouts in Washington are you? |
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
hey john , thanks for the fast great service. i didnt even think that you had the check yet. all the parts are a+++. i have a few questions. !should i run a disc/disc prop valve ? 2 does it matter what chamber on the master is for front and witch is for rear or does it matter. thanks
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
You can either run a disc/disc prop valve, or just plumb it direct from the MC and plumb in an adjustable prop valve in the rear line. Yes it does matter which line goes where. The ports have two different thread sizes.....I don't remember which one is which size. I'll check and get back to you.

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Sorry I didn't get back sooner....been really busy.
Any way on the Corvette master it looks like the front port which is a 1/2-20 thread is for the front brakes and of course the rear port which is 9/19-18 thread is rear brakes. If you need anything else let me know. |
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
cool thanks john . im gonna try to install it all this week. and thanks a again for the fast service and beautiful parts
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
PM Sent! Just want to make sure these will work on a 68 with the conversion axles...
|
Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
Yes they will work.
Your brackets are on their way......Thanks Quote:

Re: Camaro Caliper Brackets
sorry i spammed the impala bracket post - this is actually what i need. do you know of anyone who has tried this with 89-92 rear f-body brakes? i might try to pioneer it since i have a set of them sitting in my garage unused.
