I remember seeing this rig on the FSC forum a few years back of when the PO bought it. Apparently his big plans to fix it up never panned out. Good luck with the build.

Looks like good progress. I love seeing these duallies slammed. Makes me wish I still had mine.

I think duallies layed out on semi wheels look awesome!

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Looks like it will be a real neck-breaker. I think just to be even more badass, you should do a candy pink paint scheme!

Str8Ugly 01-20-2009 12:51 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

oh it will be repainted and it will be a hot pink and silver 2 tone

i been trying to find a decent motor and trans for he thing.. i don't wanna throw a junk motor in it..

Str8Ugly 02-24-2009 07:57 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Re: Pink Dually of Death

On the semi wheels the back you will have to widen the flares or run a super single.i think http://www.duallyfendersusa.com/ has wider flares.

Str8Ugly 02-25-2009 12:38 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

lol no thanks on them fenders they are horrible.. all they do is add a fender flare to the outside of the fenders lip... my rear end will be the same as a cab & chassis rear.. and the tires on them i can tuck both m 24's under the srw bed

Re: Pink Dually of Death

I live like 15 minutes away and never heard of this thing? No updates since Feb, is this project dead?

Driveway Dreams 09-15-2009 11:21 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

I hope its not dead. It looked like it was going to be a cool build. The OP is online. Maybe we can get an update.

Str8Ugly 09-15-2009 11:52 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

no the ting isn't dead just hacked to ****.... i figured that since i was working so much i would take it to a place and have them build it in a reasonable amount of time... well turns into a year or deal and i start harping on the shop owner he just throws the back half together.. needless to say ill be redoing the back half of the truck starting this weekend once it dries up from all this rain.. trucks not dead just been on another persons time.. now its on mine.. cab will be pulled off this week some time along with the 2x4x1/4" tube to redo the backhalf...

http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r...y/_MG_1389.jpg

can you say not centered

http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/r...y/_MG_1387.jpg

ill be using maybe the lower link bars if they are even the same length.... everything else with be scrapped or used as other parts if i can find anything actually useable

it looks as if a 5 year old welded on it.... i can lay jb weld down better than what he did

camaro__thunder 09-15-2009 11:59 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

The shop that was building it didnt do it the way he wanted.
He picked the truck up and will be redoing it himself. They messed up quite a few things frame and bedwise. Its a shame.

*** wow I was checking up on dfwminis when you were doing the above.***

STOCKISH 09-15-2009 12:05 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

If you can pay a shop to do it, I'd love to see what Hills Hotrods could do with it. Looks like a killer project. Sorry to hear the shop it was at hacked it up so bad.

dv8customs 09-15-2009 12:11 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

You scrapping the entire back half? From the pics it looks like much of it could be saved.

Str8Ugly 09-15-2009 12:25 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

entire back will be scraped once i get my new back half measured off this one... dv8 where do you live at?

yes most of the stuff is on dfwminis... and i can't thank the great friends i have met off there enough for helping me load it up in the pouring ass rain... true friends

Ouch! It is people like that shop that make it hard for those of us who actually want to do nice work for people, hard to get rolling. Sorry to hear about your experience. Good luck with the re-do. How much of the work done will actually stay on the truck? Did they do the front right?

i don't know about under the cab untill i actually get it off and leveled out on jack stands ... then ill beable to tell more.. the z i believe is fine.. he has a different welder/fab guy working there when the front and under the cab was done.... still its upsetting but im not out a butt load either since this truck was supposed to be sponsored by him when we made the deal.. lets just say his name won't be in the magazine when i get my feature

dv8customs 09-15-2009 03:07 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Texas Iron and Steel over in Longview does. I got my 2x4x 3/16 from there.

Str8Ugly 09-15-2009 03:23 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

woo man 114 for 2x3 and 116 for 2x4... and not open on a saturday looks like ill be asking off early friday.. only stay open till 3

dv8customs 09-15-2009 03:29 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Unless you are planning to tow a gooseneck you could get by just fine by using the 2x4x3/16. Save a little cash too.

Str8Ugly 09-15-2009 03:38 PM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

whats a dually without a gooseneck hitch? oh course its gonna have a goose neck hitch... gotta be able to tow my tractor and hay around

Re: Pink Dually of Death

I'm hoping my boss will let me off early Friday so I can go and get my 48' of 2x4 box tubing.... I'll be ditching the front clip and building my own for a full frame instead of a 3/4 frame I'll also be doing a few more unseen dually things pretty sure I won't have it done by turkey drag in Tyler Texas as planned but it'll be different let's put it that way

Damien 09-17-2009 10:32 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

When you redo the frame I would not have all the pie cuts to make the frame round. That is too many weld seams to crack in my opinion. I think you would be better off cutting the notch from plate steel then boxing it in. It always sucks having to redo work and its worse when it is someone elses.

dv8customs 09-17-2009 10:43 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Good luck with the new frame, I plan to take mine to Turkey Drag but I doubt it will be done.

Str8Ugly 09-17-2009 11:13 AM

Re: Pink Dually of Death

Nothing will be pie cut on this new frame I'm thinking I'm gonna convert it over to a rhd should be interesting
