1SIK69 build....

Re: 1SIK69 build....
Here is some bad I pulled the windshield and glass yesterday and found some cancer. The area around the bad window is pretty much immaculate. I don't think it is too bad for a 40 year old truck.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
Some of my plans are 22's laying rockers. Repaint the motor with all that billet. Smooth firewall. Leather buckets and console. Raise bed floor above notches so I dont have to cut the floor. Calicombo with LEDs in the roll pan. Frenched in tag bucket. Phantom billet grill, tilt hood, 4 inch chop top, Eventually tubular control arms and Z the frame.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
Sweet, I like those wheels :D
|
Re: 1SIK69 build....
Well today I got the 5 lug stuff bolted up in the front. When I cut the fender the wheels are gonna tuck nice. I am running drop spindles and cut lowers, I think I still have a lot of travel before the control arms bottom out.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
Ok here is what I got done today. Me and my buddy pulled the front end off and yanked out the motor and tranny for some fresh paint and new seals on the tranny. I took some pics without jack stands to see how she was gonna lay out. What do yall think? I know the firewall looks nasty. I am gonna smooth her out before I install the motor and tranny.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
wow, those are some SIK rims you have there, and a pretty fast deadline coming up also. i like the plans for the truck so far, great ride height and bling. I definelty want to see if you get your goal met, i hope you do, just so you can show that ride off.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
I will be at TexMex. Maybe I will see you there
|
Re: 1SIK69 build....
Did not do much to it today except started stripping the candy red paint off the motor. Grrrrrrr. I am looking for a Edelbrock intake and carb before I drop the motor back in. I have like less than 3 weeks to finish this damn thing.

Re: 1SIK69 build....

I got it from ***************** and I haven't measured it but I think it is like a 8-10 inch notch. They call it a monster notch. |
Re: 1SIK69 build....
this is what we did over the weekend. Lowers and a crossmember. Kinda working back and forth between the rear set up and stripping the firewall.

Re: 1SIK69 build....
Looks really good, i had to take a double look at your cap on the diff, i was like, wtf, but never mind it is your cap for the rims, my bad, i will say one thing, that pipe you are using will be fine, but make sure that you gusset it some, front and possible the bottom, otherwise it will flex the frame and crack out, other wise great job guys.

Well here is an update on what I got done the past few days. Well yesterday it rained all day so needless to say I wasn't out working on it being I am working out of a car port. I got all my valves plumbed and figured out how I was gonna run my compressors and tanks. The fitting are freaking expensive. I had to go buy about $50 worth of fittings today. I also got the holes drilled for the upper bag mounts up front. I am gonna take a wire wheel to the control arms and frame and give it a coat of flat black before I get it all together. I bought the rubber break line that runs from the calipers to hard line and the one for the back. I also ordered a new master cylinder and break booster and proportioning valve. I need to go to the pick n pull and get the break lines off a later model truck since all my breaks are off an 86 Suburban. I ordered a halnd full of stuff from LMC and ebay yesterday. So once I get a seat and break lines I should have everything to put this thing back together. Ok enough of me rambling. I will update more as it happens. |
Re: 1SIK69 build....
Today it finally stopped raining. I decided to get the frame cleaned up in the front and strip the firewall so I can get it smoothed out and ready for the motor. I probably took off about 3lbs of surface rust off the frame. The firewall had like 3 layers of paint. It was Black on top, whatever kinda paint it was it was thick, then Chevy orange, then red. I got the steering column and everyting thing else taken out so tomorrow I can hopefully start making filler plates for the holes. Here are a few pics of what I got done. Crap I hope I can remember how everything goes together. lol

Re: 1SIK69 build....

Re: 1SIK69 build....
See you at TEX MEX
|
Re: 1SIK69 build....
The rear bag mount like that will cause your bar to flex and roll over. If you do them like that, they need to be centered over the bar.

Tonight I got a few things done. Mounted the tanks and compressors. The fitting and compressors are just mocked in until after I paint the frame. I am still waiting on my tabs to mount the wish bone. We change the crossmember by the cab with the bend tubing. Tomorrow I am gonna finish working on the firewall so I can get the motor put back in and running. Still got a crap load of stuff to do. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...9/IMG_0371.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...9/IMG_0372.jpg |
