Firebird bezels
 

I am working on some bezels that fit our trucks better than the stock Firebird bezels. In my opinion the Firebird bezels are too small for the recess on our trucks. Ours will have threaded studs on the backside and will attach with stainless steel lockwashers and nuts. I have attached a few pictures showing the differences in the two. Just putting out a feeler for interest in these, the oil patch is a little slow right now.

looks great - what would be nice is a comparison shot of your product installed on a truck and then one of the stock firebird bezels to show the difference.

Just noticed the second pic - it must not have been done loading when I typed my respone - duh.

Very cool!!! I would inquire about it set if they were available. Thats just an IF though since nobody is selling them.

What are these for? My 67 doesn't seem to have these weird ufo like lights? Nice looking anyway!

67 did not have them.They were required 68 up.

I dig em. The 'Bird ones have a funny angle to them, these take care of that.

Much nicer than Firebirds.Do they take the `Bird lenses?Go over the truck lenses?Your lenses?

OK... what IS a "Firebird Bezel"? We are talking about the CST side marker lamps...right?
By the way, they look awesome.

some guys have used the side markers off a 2nd gen firebird, has the 2 lenses like the CST/Cheyenne lens, but it is flush mounted and has the cover like the one being shown above... but they don't fit right at all without mods

68 didn't have bulbs though, only reflectors...

I'm in for a set. I too would prefer mild steel so I can paint them to match. What lenses would be used?

In 68 and 69, in pick up trucks, the markers were reflectors as base equipment, and lights were an added cost option. If you had a cab/chassis or cowl chassis, then the marker lights were required (per federal DOT regulations), and were added to the cost... basicly a required added cost option. I have GMC corperate notes to the dealer here in my reference material that says this is true.

I will powdercoat them for 5 bucks each. If you wanted to, he could send them to me and I would coat them then forward them to you.

You guys are more than welcome to have him ship them straight to me. It will take me about 2 days to coat them max. I can then ship them to you.

I have guys on here buy stuff on ebay and have it shipped to me for coating. When I am done, I ship it to them. Saves time and shipping that way.
