New member new Project
4 Attachment(s)
Hi all
I'm one month into project, but it's hot down here in Rocky Point! No AC in the shop, so I'm taking it easy. Did Bell Tech static drop four years ago, when I first aquired it, then got real busy at work and home, now I finally have time to get back into it. Stripped to bare frame, cleaned and epoxy coated the bottom of the cab. Gonna slam it and bag it and just generally clean up and paint most everything (original colors) and put it back together with stock engine and trans for now until I save more money. Plan to go V8 and automatic in near future. Will be asking for advice a lot through this project Thanks in advance, Rick |

As far as I know my brakes, spindles, and fuel tank haven't come in yet. Without them I can't complete the rolling chassis. Got most of the black polyurethane on the frame yesterday and today. |

A lot of blood and sweat has gone into it this summer! And to "Domsan": the truck will get finished unless I die! I set my date to have it at least running and rolling by Nov 6 |

Hey how did you do alignment etc after you got yours all put together? Your truck looks killer by the way, can't wait to get mine rollin' |
Re: New member new Project
Well its actually not fully aligned yet. I used a tape measure on the front and back of the tires and adjusted the tie rods accordingly to get the tires pointed straight. Then I used the factory shims behind the upper arms but didn't have enough to get the tires straight up and down. Now this is just temporarily until I Can get it to an alignment shop. Make sure your alignment is done at ride height.

Alright! I'm excited again! My parts came in after four weeks wait
Things will start moving again Fitted Performance Online aluminum fuel cell, had to trim the rearmost crossmember to let it slide down into place FYI .. Believe it or not if you buy the Magaughys' big 13" brake kit, you will have to pull the rear axles and have the hubs turned down in two places so they will fit in the rotors. So it was back to the shipyard again today. |

Why are you jealous? I can see that sweet Blazer!! Same wheels I have by the way |
Re: New member new Project
I want to build a complete 67-72 Dropmember chassis like you.
I can't make myself cut up the blazer,... so it will never be that low. I've started a Dropmember project with my '86,... but I really want to do a 67-72 model instead. Keep those pictures coming! |
Re: New member new Project
Truck is looking good. Keep the pics coming. Almost have my chassis rolling. Nate does have some awesome products. Good luck with your build.

Good luck with yours also! Update: For last couple days.. Finished up control arms Jumped into the Mcgauhys' Big Brake kit.. it was a MF!.. no directions, had to go trial and error all the way. They didn't even put.. Some assembly required on the box! Finally figured out the way the rear caliper brackets will work I think. Got the spindles and hubs on, calipers and rotors, I think they will be OK. Installed air bags, rack and pinion, and sway bar. |
