1988 chevy resto project
5 Attachment(s)
bought the truck when i was 14 (now 16) been working on it since then it was totaled out from the insurance company so me i bought it from my brothers friend and started to fix it. there was no frame damages just the cab and body. I found a body at the local junk yard for 200. Last summer i moved the truck to my grandfathers shop because he had a junk yard where i found a motor and a cab for the truck still haven't finished it its hard working on it between school and having my grandfather live an hour away but heres how it sits rite now.

Re: 1988 chevy resto project
Not bad man. It's coming along pretty well considering the circumstances. It's always a really cool feeling to pull into your school parking lot with something that you've worked your butt off on. What are you planning on doing for the paint?

Re: 1988 chevy resto project
im gonna go with the gm maroon thats on the cab and im gonna get the mossy oak camo sticker wrap and go from the body line dow with camo and lookin to get camo z71 stickers for it

Re: 1988 chevy resto project
ok did you loose 2 studs or break em?
Also just a heads up but did you ever consider some of the aftermarket chrome headlights and parklights, corners? Maybe some smoked ones or something? If not maybe polish the stockers since they are yellowed badly like mine were? IMO the chevy grille. |
Re: 1988 chevy resto project
the rockers wore on the studs and messed up the studs so i had to replace them and now the push rods keep turning the rockers. but thats why they are out. the lights that are in the grille will probably because i cant afford to buy new ones although i would like to.
|
Re: 1988 chevy resto project
you can polish them up a lil bit with toothpaste or maybe wetsand then toothpaste em, if not they make kits that are cheap.
|
Re: 1988 chevy resto project
ill have to work on them sometime but first i gotta finish the truck first

Re: 1988 chevy resto project
what all did you have to do to go carbed?
I have an intake and carb. Did you use a mech fuel pump or the electric one? |
