I need a '68 bench seat

I'm looking for a bench seat out of a '68 truck.
This will need to be nice enough to install new reproduction upholstery on.
I'm trying to keep from purchasing all new foam.
I know the '68 seat brackets are different from '69-'72 brackets,... so I'd really like to find an original '68 seat.

Let me know what you guys have out there.
Preferably close to Missouri, so I can come pick it up.
Thanks.

I don't know,... are they the same?
Do you have any pics?
Especially the bottom side that would show the tracks.
Also,... how much?

Parting a 68 right now. The flip forward seat is in decent shape. Would you have any way to get it from northern MN?

I have a really nice one that has solid springs and foam. I'd give it to you if you lived near me.

Okay I hope these pics help ya.

Two under the seat trying to show the tracks and then the front.

Very dusty at the body shop. lol

Re: I need a '68 bench seat

I think that must be a different seat than my 68 takes.
Mine has 4 total holes on each seat bracket (that bolt to the floor).
Not one on each end.

That looks like a mid 70s seat and brackets.

I found a set of buddy buckets for $500 locally.
(so no shipping)
I just haven't had a chance to look at them.

It honestly could be!

As it was sitting in place with like only one or two bolts holding it in place when I bought the truck.

Keith, I am in the springfield area, I will look at mine and make sure it is in good shape. It has been out and in my shop for a few years. and currently has one of the seat covers on it I never removed after having it for 15-20 years. I swapped seats also.

Did you ever find a seat? I have a pretty good 1970 seat (doesn't flip forward) that has bolt holes on the bottom like you described... I'm not far from you... I'd be interested in trading you for something... I really need a solid drivers door or a set of good hood hinges... Got anything like that?

If keith already got a seat I might be interested in yours. I am in KC. I have a seat but its not an original one. Keith has first dibs though.

Re: I need a '68 bench seat

I just aquired another one in a 69-70 gmc, but its not as nice of shape as the blue one I pictured. I don't have any good pics of it currently.

I hope me posting these isn't a violation of the rules... If it is, I apologize... I'll buy in, if I need to... I'm really not looking to sell stuff, just saw that lolife was close to me and he might have something I could use, and might need the seat that is taking up space in my shop...

Brian,... PM me if you need a bench seat.
I have one extra,... but the price might be more than you want to give.

This one out of my '70 stepside,...

Keith,

I was surprised to see this thread come back alive!

Guess I need to post my 1972 bench for sale soon.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Scott.

Re: I need a '68 bench seat

I just bought Keith's brown seat.. Its actually probably on its way to me now. Funny thing is... that color is about the color I imagined. I am glad keith had it especially since he was already coming to KC to deliver my cross sills. Bad thing is that I didnt have the money for it.. I am in the dog house with the wife now.. I guess it will be a long weekend of honey do's around the house before I am out of the doghouse..

Thanks again KEITH not for putting me in the doghouse but for having the seat I was looking for.
