http://i392.photobucket.com/albums/p...an9101/006.jpg http://i392.photobucket.com/albums/p...an9101/007.jpg well i had the back lowered for a while then i got my spindles in today so i put those on then i cut the coils too much and bam im about a 1/4 of a inch from the inner fenders, took it out of my driveway drove up the street and it was hell hit the inner fenders on every little bump and had no turning radius, so i bought some new coils and just left the spindles in looks good now ill snap some pictures tommorow of it with new coils. i cut a whole coil out of the front and it went down way lower than i expected i loved the look but im not pulling inner fenders. |
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Wow, thats a sharp truck.
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
LOL I did the same thing.Coils just came in yesterday.I will put them in over the long weekend.
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
It does look cool though. Did it hit at the top of the inner fender or the inner lip?
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
you could have just went with smaller front tires
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
yeah I think it looks good, just a shorter tire and call it good
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much

Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Go to your local wheel alignment guy and get a 3/8" rubber spacer and put it in the lower A arm pocket. That way you can raise back up to what you would want for daily use. Mine have been in there for 6 years.

Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
I found that the air dam is useful. It makes a negative pressure under the truck and removes the air that will build up in the wheel wells. That makes running at higher speeds easier for me. I kept mine just for that reason and I use the factory one, so that I don't have to spend a bunch of money repairing aftermarket fiberglass units.

Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
lower :-)
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Matt what size tires are you running? And what lowering components did you use. The truck looks sick!
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
yeah it looks sic in the first pic. i woulda got smaller tires and the right bump stops to limit the travel and ran with it. the rake looks good, air dam makes it look lwer too like they say
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Remove the inner fenders & lower the rear more!!! Thay won't hit then ...

Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Looks good!
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
my advice too coil cutters is.. do 1/4 coil at a time, install test, ride height.. repeat until ur happy with ride height... one full coil will be at least 2" drop. just sayin.
truck looks good! |

Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
why would you lower a 1 ton its pointless
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Mitch thanks for your negative comments, I will stop by next time I'm coming through goodland in my lowered 1ton towing a 24ft car trailer. Which is what the truck is intended to do.
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
it looks good but i just have a problem with 2wds in general one tons sit up high so you can put a lot of crap in there if you lower it its useless and it will hit the ground if you put anything in there
|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
1 tons are not useless if ya lower them. You can haul just as much if you do it right. I am looking for a 87'-91' drw crew cab in the near future to slam on the ground. Low is the only way to go!!!

Ive had many 1tons all lowered and I run them and tow with them hard maybe to much at times and never had a problem I bet you like your 4wd lifted, huh? heres a little info for you nagitive nancy you have a better chance at loosing your tow and hauling capacity with lifting your truck then you do lowering it |
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
mattman ditch them tall tires it almost looked like you droped it about 4" in the front
Im runnin a 29" tall tire and I have no problems I do hit the inner fender once in a great while |
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
Well i have a change of plans recently and im going to try and look for a k5 blazer so this one has to go. wish i can keep both but as a college student i could use something with a lil better gas mileage and something smaller to park.

|
Re: lowered my truck! a little too much
