1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
Well I have started a Build thread for my truck that i just picked up from a guy in my town for 3k with some extras. My plans are to tear it down and install a Porterbuilt Dropmember with PB Arms and a Full rear Trailing Arm Dropmember in the back. I have ordered all my parts from Nathan and should be getting them in a few weeks. I will be running a classic steel smoothie rim with bullet caps and white walls. The 350 engine will get rebuilt and warmed up a little. And i will have the TH400 freshend up also. I have included some pictures of inspiration trucks also. I'm sure i will have a few questions for Nate and some of you Dropmembered Guys.
Thanks and enjoy,:alc: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C101.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C103.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C104.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C102.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C105.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...MY1963C106.jpg *****Inspirational Truck***** http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...s66-063-21.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...k/DSC00050.jpg |

what did you have lowering it before the drop members your putting in?
|
Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
The guy i bought it from just cut down the springs, not a good ride in the front on bottomed out shocks.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
Spent some time getting the frame stripped clean of years of grime and oil leaks. Used engine brite, super clean, wire brush, putty knife and finished it with a wire brush wheel on my 4 1/2" grinder. I'm going to wipe it down with acetone and prime and paint it today.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
Well i got the frame painted and then the UPS guy stopped with my Dropmembers V3.2 front with arms and sway bar and the new Trailing Arm kit for the rear. I still have some more stuff on the way, hood hinges, bags, ect.. but this will keep me busy. Nate is a great guy to deal with, answers questions quick and puts out quality parts.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
You're making great progress don't stop now! It's not that hot! Get out there and get those Porterbuilt products installed! I'm only saying this cause I have no money to buy the rear trailing arm kit for my truck! And seeing pics helps me from being completely depressed! Very nice ride! Keep them pics coming!

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
You got it. I cut the frame for the rack notch's, tacked the notch's to a piece of angle on a flat surface to keep them true while welding them in. Then primed and painted frame. Next few days i will be bolting on the front kit. Its not that hot compared to what nate's going through in Mesa..
