New trash truck
1 Attachment(s)
87, 4 banger, 4 speed, no PS, no PB. Now is this going to stay as a trash truck, or is going to be my cool trash truck? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... What do you all think?

Re: New trash truck
I like it! My favorite vehicle of all time was a 91 4cyl 5sp, no ac, ps, etc.
I like them simple. |
Re: New trash truck
Not bad!!! can have fun with that and not worry about scratching it
|
Re: New trash truck
Thanks! Did a little work on it this weekend and now I need to find some springs!
|
Re: New trash truck
Well last night I got the welder out and fixed all the holes on top of the bed and fender holes. I think the bed had something like 10 holes on each side that I had to weld up. Why do you have to do that?
Back at it tonight.. |

Did a little work on the truck last night, I found a new fender and started welding it up. Now that looks better.;)
I am also working on the front bumper, cutting it up a little and making it fit close to the body. And I had a set of 02 vette seats that I made work in the truck. I will get pics of that very soon.. |

Pics of my new seats, I also picked up an 87 vette Steering wheel, not on in this pic. And I was thinking pull the old wheel off and put the new one on, No! it took cutting and drilling to make it work. So GM did not make all the wheels just a like, the spline was the only thing that did work right. But its one now and looks sweet...

Re: New trash truck

Re: New trash truck
Sweet. My dad had a two tone red and white 91 2.5L/5spd. I loved driving that truck.

Thanks guys, ya it’s a different fun to drive then my blazer, I guess I don’t care about the truck as much and just drive the hell out of it. I don’t want to make it that nice so I don’t loose that feeling. But a V8 with a 5 speed or 6 speed will come soon…
And one pic of the vette logo in the grill, looks kinda cool I must say.. Trav |

I will post pics soon on how to do this. My plan is to have this thing looking some what good before my truck show in May.

I know it is, but this is my trash truck and I am trying to keep everything that I am doing plus the cost of the truck under $800. I have about $700 in it right now. |

OK guys, here is step by step what to do after you get all the parts out of the door. Take the handle rod out and the lock rod.
(Pic 1)In my first pic you see both rods plus lock and handle, this is what they look like when you first take them out. (Pic 2)Next pic, you see how I cut the lock rod that is about 2" long and the handle rod that is about 4.5 long. I am saying about because it could be a little different on your truck. Cut them a little long and you can always put a bend in them. (Pic 3)I have welded the parts together and you can now test fit. Like I said it was take a time or two to get the bends just right so it works nice and smooth. I also have pics with the plate welded it. You have to take you time so you do not get it to hot. I hope that helps some of you guys. Trav |
