Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
2 Attachment(s)
Im thinking about lowering my 89 silverado. I was thinking a 2" in the back and leaving the front like it is. But i seen some of the project trucks that have 4/5" drops that looks good. If some one could photo shop it, that would be nice. Heres a pic of my truck:

I'd do a 2/4 drop on it. LWB trucks can look good, like that. I don't have a pic of a LWB, but my SWB Stepside is lowered 2/4. If you go any lower than 4-inches in the back, you'll need to do a C-notch.
There's a thread above this forum that has pix of 88-98's. You should look through it and see what you can find. You should post a pic of the side view, like this, if you want to do some photoshopping. Also, there's a forum on here for people to do photoshopping. Check it out. Meanwhile, here's my truck. |
Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
If you take a picture straight on from the side, there's a photoshop forum here with guys that will be happy to help you out. They could simulate a couple different drops if you ask. But I agree with Chev too; look through the post-your-ride thread -- there are tons of lowered trucks in there.

Cool, thanks guys.

Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
You can take that truck as it is without changing a thing, not even the wheels, and put a 2/4 or 4/6 drop on it and it would have a dramatic affect on the way it looks. It would look good!

No problemo.

Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
Mine only has shackles in the rear, its a 2 to 3 drop, front is stock.
I am looking for a 3/4 or 3/5 to begin with but might want more, the dropped look itches at you and I can see why so many have the urge to go lower. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...y/d3c6a732.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...y/58e2d239.jpg |

Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
i know cutting springs is not the right way but is it acceptable? 1 coil=2" thinkin djm springs hangers and cut a used set of front coils.

6-7 drop. 6.5" and 8" van/truck ralleys. 205/70/15 front 255/70/15 rear tires. Drop is from lowered spindles, and 2" lowered springs with one coil removed, rear drop is axle flip and lowering shackles.
Previously I had all black 6" steel wheels, and drilled bumpers. The truck looks so much better now I had to show it off |

Try this on for size. It is not a weed burner by any means, but with this drop, I am still able to haul what I want and run at speeds on rough roads without bottoming out.
3" drop lower A frames in the front and a 4" drop in the rear. |
Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
Wow Red94, your truck looks awesome! begging for a small lower but nothing extreme though... Love the wheel/tire size, what's the specs on em?

Here is one that I found at a local car show. There are a lot of subtle changes to it.

The red truck grew on me the more that I looked at it. Even the 'B' pillar being moved forward. It gives it a slight look of "ElCamino". |
Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
That forward leaning cab pillar reminds me of the 55 to 57 Chevy trucks. It might look better on a late model sportside.

Re: Need some pics of lowered 88-98 silverados
Well, it ain't purty but it IS lowered and it IS..... errrr "WAS" a Silverado. 4-6 drop, 2" spindles, 2" springs with an axle flip and c-notch in back. Tires are 225-75 X 15 front and 235-75 X 15 rear. Rides like a dream and handles fairly well given the skinny tires. I have Doetsch shocks on all 4 corners.
