Whats for dinner?

Tonight is the hectic kid night.. so we threw some steak and gravy with rice together, to take with. Thankfully we can hit the office between stuff, so its not so bad.

So whats for dinner at your place? (ie I need ideas for the rest of the week lol)

Jack and I both worked a full day then had to deal with some after school stuff, got home late. We did a small frozen lasagne, garlic cheese bread and some steamed greenbeans with almonds. We dont eat much this late so we'll have plenty for leftovers. Easy dinner tomorrow :D

oh, and I think i remember some Sara Lee cheese cake in the freezer with my name on it, lol

I made Butter Beans, Stewed cabbage and Cornbread for lunch. Just a sandwich for tonight.

Try some of my friend Christy Jordan's recipes for quick, cheap and easy dishes.
Her cookbook is coming out October 5th and she is kicking off her book tour.

Pork Roast in the crock pot with a packet of McCormicks slow cookers pulled pork seasoning. Makes a decent quick meal & I get leftover pulled pork sandwiches in my lunch box!

Re: Whats for dinner?

I love my crock pot, and pressure cooker.. I would be lost without them.
I think tonight will be taco tuesday. The kids love when we do that.. no clue why but just calling it taco tuesday makes it all good to them..

Shane n Bob you got me in the mood for meatloaf. Bob go ahead n send it or post it in gourmet. Id like to see the diff between them all. I make one Mommas way, Italian like without sauce etc. One best friends Mommas like, tomato sauce n bacon wrapper (yum but a rare treat). And one a friend here showed me with ketchup mustard brown sugar etc.. i like it but never think to make it.

It wasn't "yum" last night. It was "meh." I tried their special, can't remember what it was called, roman burger or somthing, but I won't be having that again.

I love their whiskey river burger, should have stuck to that!

Try the Royal Red Robin ... cheeseburger all the way with a fried egg on top ... it is much better than it sounds. Seriously.

I LOVE Red Robin. Yummm. :sexy:

El Jay 09-28-2010 09:03 PM

Re: Whats for dinner?

But, but, but, how many Robins does it take to take a meal?

Tonight is grilled sword fish steaks; grilled asparagus; fresh, local corn on the cob.

Sloppy Joe's tonight with Acorn squash and salad.

67ChevyRedneck 09-28-2010 09:16 PM

Re: Whats for dinner?

I might try that next time Shane!

I love RR, but whatever I had last night made me a little sick. It was like quacamole, avacado, fetta, lettuce, the burger... and I think some other stuff. I love all that stuff seperately, but I have learned not all together on top of a burger.

Tonight was homemade mac n cheese, nathans hot dogs (if you haven't tried these, at least try them, I love 'em!) and homemade "Red Lobster" biscuits.

Chief Bail 09-28-2010 09:17 PM

Squash oooooohhhhh nooooooo. My mom tried to make me eat that. Heck I took the beating lol.

Oh man, you ain't kiddin'. One of my first new loves when I moved to SC was Chik fil a and zaxbys... then I discovered Hardees

Just off the top of my head, places that are here in SC that are not in where I'm from in NY are: chik fil a, zaxbys, hardees, popeyes, bojangles, sonic... thats all I can think of right now...

Re: Whats for dinner?

Monday night was nothing special, was a bit under the weather.

Tuesday night was a grilled ribeye, rubbed with Riley's seasoning and some cracked black pepper.

Tonight was cubed chicken in fire roasted tomatoes over sticky white rice.

Tomorrow night will be 2 sandwich cut butterfly chops, seasoned with a blend of I-don't-know-what from the local meat market.

Friday night will be something simple and light, as I'm going to Chicago Sat. morning, probably a bowl of ramen noodles with some extra frozen veggies thrown in.

67ChevyRedneck 09-29-2010 07:29 PM

Re: Whats for dinner?

Tonight was left over mac n cheese and fresh Hot n Readys from Little Caesars.

Piece of Work 09-29-2010 07:38 PM

Re: Whats for dinner?

pork cops, butter beans, seasoned sliced potatos.

Liz 09-29-2010 09:19 PM

Re: Whats for dinner?

TJ the kids love ramen noodles with extra veggies in it. Usually toss a can of corn and can of peas in them with less water.

Tonight was meatloaf, potatoes, red cabbage, brussel sprouts, and corn.

Tomorrow night is usually take out, as the kids are at dance from 4-9.. so I am in the office all night.
