Nice sounding 400, stall and gears for the cam?

Re: little music for your ears..

I had to show this to a friend - he likes it. He said it sounds like it may take a little more timing. 36 to 38 total fully advanced at 2500 rpm. You may have a little more left in the beast.;) Nice truck!

3r!c84 11-13-2010 05:06 PM

Re: little music for your ears..

What do you mean? Set the timing around there at 2500rpm. It's at 16 at 1k rpm

i personally like the 50's a bit more... had them on my car, a lot deeper, fuller? sounding than the 40's that are on my blazer.

That's what I want something a little lower toned.Love my 40,s but sometimes it seems like a high pitched squeal when you really get on it if that makes any sense . Oh and forgot why I'm here . Awesome looking engine there and sounds great.Very nice truck all around

You'll need a timing light with dial back to check total timing. I don't have one and don't know how to use it, all I have is a basic light for setting timing at idle. 16 is good initial as long as you unhooked the vacuum advance and plugged it.
