OK... how many of you guys have project ADD... and have multiple going at once???

I am trying my best to leave my '51 sedan delivery outside under the carport and concentrate on my '80, but its so tempting...

To make matters worse, I found a '53 chevy pickup basket case complete with s10 chassis that I am considering buying!

I hear ya, everything I own turns into a project. Ive bought daily drivers in the past so I could tear down a project and then had the dd turn into a project itself. I find I have the most ambition to work on whatever im driving regardless of what it is.

I don't have the room. My DD could be a project at any time, but I am doing my best to keep it from becoming one. Of course, these things do have a way of getting out of hand. For instance, my car needs shocks/struts, so while I am there it makes sense to put in lowering springs, since it will have to be aligned anyway, right? Or, I have to pull the rear seat out to fix the bushings in the quarter windows, so a few more screws gets the carpet out for cleaning, etc.

I think this is how I ended up putting in cab mounts during an engine swap.......

I know exactly how you feel. I am in the process of building a 47 Chevy Sedan Streetrod. Just started on a 49 Chevy truck with my son, installed Nova subframe last weekend (see 47-59 forum). My 68 SWB fleetside is sitting in the barn at my dads waiting patiently. I am going to go look at an all original 87 SWB fleetside that has been sitting for about ten years so it will become another project. Not to mention all the stuff the wife thinks needs to be done to the house. I think I need another me to go to work so I can stay home and play, wishfull thinking. I guess this is what we crazy people do, one thing at a time just is'nt enough.

LOL i'm the same. I got my Dually (my DD) so it gets stuff done to it when i have time and i don't need it that day.

and my other is my All motor neon for the track. always looking for ways to go faster.

and i think i found a burban... but the wife is fighting e and saying no lol

I'm with you dude! My '68 Camaro, my boat, a couple of shifter karts, some old school bmx bikes, a couple big fish tanks and a 5 year old and a 6 year old make it tough to get anything done! At least most of the BS on my R30 is "wanna-do" instead of "gotta-do" right now!

I can't believe I did this, now when I look back on it - but -

I restored a '42 Farmall A tractor (intended to be my primary grass cutter and snow pusher) at the exact same time that I put in a brick paver driveway.

6622 bricks (but who's counting!); what's significant here is that the area in front of the garage was dug out so that you couldn't roll the tractor in an out.

Finished 'em both up - but - what' was I thinking?

Keith, and the beautiful red truck that was restored in that driveway, maybe before or after theses other projects but still one of my favorites. I am sure the tractor was a fun project, I helped my dad restore is old (50 something) Ford tractor, not much to them until your start taking them apart.

My house project is never ending! That being said, I have been in project elimination mode for more than a year now. Weather it means selling things off or putting the work in, I have found that it is best for my MENTAL HEALTH to have as few projects as possible. As soon as I have fewer loose ends I can start on the 78 again.

How much work are you doing on any of your projects? Some guys need more than one because they really have ADD but are very motivated. Others are more collectors a junk than builders. You decide where you fot on that profile...

I used to be very motivated with one project until my Dad and my FIL died leaving with their projects ('37 Chevy coupe, '67 Camaro RS, '73 BMW 2002, '71 Moto Guzzi, '79 Vespa, '58 Triumph...). Now I had to buy a house in the country so I would have room for all of them. Of course, I can't afford much, so I had to buy a project house, and now I get nothing done on any of my vehicles...

I'm a hoarder/collector... I only roll maybe 25% of my projects, the others I sell off or put out in the pasture. 50 something cars tells me I'm a hoarder lol. I have more fun finding, getting a good deal, then I do finishing them. Maybe it has something to do with me working on cars for a living I dont know. BUT I am not like most hoarders, I dont mind selling them if I think someone will build it. Thats more money for me to spend buying something else.

Reminds me of the time I was gassing up the Harley... the one that says HARLEY on the tank... while wearing my leather jacket with a big eagle and the word HARLEY on it.... and this guy walked up and said...
"Is that a HARLEY?"
So I said... "Yeah, its a Harley..."
He said... "I really want one of those but my wife said she'd leave me if I got one..."
So with a very deadpan expression I said, "Yup, my ex said the same thing."

Currently working on a 77 shortbox, 76 blazer, and a 70 cab 1 piece floor. The 70 and the 77 get work done on them every week. The 76 is in primer and waiting for summer and paint. My 68 stepside has been sitting for a few years untouched. Finally had to sell my 05 Honda 450r because it was a never ending project.

spudz sell me that yellow mustang :D ive got my gmc k1500 and my 95 mustang, mustangs getting painted next month swapping intake, heads and replacing current nitrous kit with a on3 turbo kit this summer. gmc is getting a 383 with edelbrock fuel injection 4l80 and np241 next month if all goes well. body work on the trucks a whole differant animal probably finish that up in a year or two

Hummm, let me see.......

My '65 Chevelle needs lower quarters.

I'm looking for a stock 350 to replace the 383 in my S-10.

I have a '50 Chevy PU in the garage in pieces/boxes.

Our kitchen is unfinished, wife can't decide on a counter top.

Need to finish running new power wire to the garage for a major upgrade, 30amp to 100amp service.

The Heap needs a fill up.

Thankfully I have a job to go to everyday, otherwise I'd have to get all that stuff done.

i traded that yellow mustang as a roller, no motor or trans for a 65 chevy swb truck that had a 454 and th400. I kept motor and trans and traded 65 truck body for a 70 and 72 swb chevy trucks that I ended up giving to a good friend of mine. HOWEVER I still have a 93 mustang 5.0 notch and a 88 gt vert that has a ton of crap done to it that I would be willing to part with . The 93 mustang is in the alternative tinkerings forum here. I just got it a month ago. Traded my 97 mustang gt vert for my 2000 trans am... good trade.

The '87 is getting a efi to carb + a little interior upgrade. The '46 ... how bout 454/4speed/chassis works tube a-arms,4 link rear, fab9, wilwood brakes all around, coil overs & 4" off the ground. Interior is all aluminum & rivets. Lots ... of rivets.

It's driving me crazy enough having the 68 Cougar and 65 GMC, both of which are daily drivers, and the half-finished '80 C10. If something goes wrong with either if the dailies, I just go crazy and get nothing done.

I'm more of the "have 2 really nice things instead of 5 half-finished or 10 junky things" kind of guy.

I had a '46 ford p/u in high school ... that was in the late 70's. Then I was inspired by FatJack Robinsons orange drag car ... If you noticed it IS being powered by some true blue BBC!!

Thanks for the props on it. I'm shooting for the 2011 Turkey Rod Run to be finished. We shall see.

I have 6 projects go'n plus a room addition and Garage project come'n up next summer.
the Dually will get air bag'd and paint
the '88 S10 needs paint
the '93 S10 will get a frame off restart
the '78 Cutlass will get a frame off resto
the MonteCarlo gets a fresh start
the Malibu wagon is at the end of the list.
all of the vehicle projects are on hold till I get home summer of 2012

We use the truck for camping
after finding collecting rust free doors/fenders and other stuff for my
85 4X4 Suburban over the last few years
I found out it was really an 88
It had to become an 88 it's next sticker Dec
which would have meant $$+Etesting
not to be, it was hit and written off by a drunk driver Nov
this is my third truck hit by a drunk driver,2nd written off,all while parked
I've since picked up a 78 Jimmy 4X4 in Oct
Plus rebuilding our trailer over the last few years
the truck stays with the trailer all summer
last year 2010 we did a new deck 12x24
I don't have a garage to work in at home so the laneway it is right now
the town house garage slopes up to the back
the burb dosn't even fit in
cleaning the workshop/furnce room started the night before the burb was hit
still torn apart
but have refinished an oak bedroom set,painted my sons bedroom
Christmas eve the crank seal went on the Grand Am
and Christmas Holidays we painted the living room Newyears eve.....
finished as company arrived
And thats about it

Tell me about the novas! I am building a 68 nova. It was an old drag car.. Too rough to build but I did anyways. New quarters, complete trunk floor with braces, tail pan, rebuilt gaskit lip around trunk etc. on hold till summer.

Has a unique dash, thats the last year the ignition key located on the dash also.
