AWESOME!!!!
One of my favorite body styles. When I was 15ish a young guy down the street had a new factory 396 4 speed black 66 2 door like that. DROOL!!!! |
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Very nice!!! Looks like you did a great job, somthing to be proud of for sure. I love the color too.

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Very nice! Great transformation too! You sure don't see many of them around anymore for sure.
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Did it come from the factory with the four speed and 427? What a kickass way to order the car, the stripped down full-size car with the most powerful powertrain.

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
I love that blue. I have a '66 impala in the garage that has been patiently waiting its turn as I collect parts.

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Much better with the TQ Thrust wheels. IMO

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Awesome, I've side it before, but those TTOs make it shine!
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
What size rims are those torque thrust's and what size tires are you running on this beast?
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Bump ...just because I like you new wheels... that are not so new any more.
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
66 biscayne, my all time fav. car. torq thrusts match the era of the car better i think. even better imho would be widened steelies with dog dish caps. either way, sweet ride
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Hey Guys. Thanks for the compliments!!! The rear has 275 60 15 on 8 inch wheels and the fronts are 225 60 15 on 7 inch wheels. Yeah I've been thinking about getting some wide steelies just to change the look up once in a while and I agree they look awsome as well. I hung on to a nice set of dog dish caps for the day that I might go with steelies.

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Did you convert the brakes to disc? What kit did you use? I been looking at a bunch of different kits for my 67 but I haven't decided since there are so many different brands and I'm not sure which ones are quality and hold up.
|
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Dig the torque thrust, but steelies with poverty caps would be the best option

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Yea yea!!! More wheels.!!!!!
This car is a terror, I used to think my 64 was fast....... Chad mopped the floor with me repeatedly with this bad boy. The pictures are good, but this thing is even nicer in person! Posted via Mobile Device |

Thanks Matt. Yeah I remember that evening quite well!!! The old Biscayne works quite well for a big car. LOL. Here is a picture of it at a local 100 foot shoot out.

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
Awesome car!!!
My first car was a 67 Bel Air 4 door, owned it from 1975-1997. I installed disc brakes on it, around 1985. It was easy, any late 1968-1970 blody style w/ factory discs, will bolt up. 1967-mid 1968 used the 4 piston calipers, they are unusual and not as desireable (to me, at least). |
Re: 1966 Biscayne 427

Re: 1966 Biscayne 427
I just found this sub-forum! I LOVE the 65-66 Impala/Bel Air/Biscayne/Caprice!!!!!!! I owned a 65 Bel Air 2 door sedan for several years. Unfortunately, it never got out of project car stage. It was a one owner car with a 283/powerglide and under dash A/C. The son of the original owner (thought/or actually was) a head gasket was blown, and pulled the heads, intake and cut the A/C lines..... That was in the 80's and never moved under it's own power again. I actually almost had it driveable, with a motor, trans swap and put a 12 bolt rear in it. All I had to do is wire it up.....and I swapped it for another car. I even had a 69 front disk brake set up. I'd like to get another one some day. David
