Re: Project 1 Ton
Yes it is Hugger Orange and I will do my best to keep the pictures coming.
Hey Glen I do not think it will be done by Carlisle but you know Jerry he will not drive it anywhere. I told him I was hooking a trailer to it and and loading the other orange and white truck and going to Pigeon Forge. i will have to look and see who I had make that tank. It turned out really nice. |
Re: Project 1 Ton
History on the truck: 1972 Factory Cheyenne 1 ton short bed, 133 in wheel base dually, 402 motor, 400 turbo trans, tilt, a/c, came out of Texas. The cab I am using is not original to the truck, I used another and put the roof from the old one onto the other cab. I have some pictures of that I will post later. I have a 454 bored 60 over in the truck now with a street and performance ramjet. The trans is a 4L80E with the wiring from TCI. The gas tank was made by Trucks USA I think from South Carolina. A March pulley system is on the front. Also an a/c update kit is going on it. Everything underneath has been blasted and powder coated that could be. Stainless brake lines and alum. fuel lines is what i used for that stuff. We have not decided on wheels yet. When we get the fenders on we want to decide how much to lower it. We think about 2 in, but that is way we are waiting on the fenders. And that will determine the wheels and there size.

Getting ready to prime and paint a few parts. This is the original core support for the truck. Painting the corners for the one piece glass, so I should be able to install them tomorrow and completly finish them.

One piece glass corners painted and installed.

Re: Project 1 Ton
In the last picture, I assume the screw (72 only doors) is just dummied in place since you have 1 piece glass and no wing windows ?
|
Re: Project 1 Ton
Yes it is dummied in place. I just cut it off short and treaded it to take a small nut. I also cut the washer that goes around it shorter too so I could tighen the nut against the door. Also on the post where the 3 other vent window screws go I JB Welded 2 screw heads in there also.
|
Re: Project 1 Ton
I see the clecos along the roof where you seamed it. Did you flange the edge of the front piece and make it a lap joint ?
|
Re: Project 1 Ton
That is exactly what I did. My thoughts on that was that it might help with the distortion of the roof.
