Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

I'm debating on switching mirrors but I like the look of the elephant ears, post up your truck if you have them!! :metal:

Here you go..

I will be swapping them to the smaller mirrors once paint and body work is done though.

I love them. You can see one of those mirrors laying anywhere and you know just what it came off of.

I wouldnt part with mine. Ive got some small mirrors on other vehicles, but I like being able to see real clearly with the big ones on the truck.

That's the main reason I wouldn't want the base mirrors. They look goodfrom the outside, but they don't look like this from inside..

On a side note about dumbos... Look for mirrors that have a seperate Left and right mirror. The universals (that fit either side) don't fit the door as well. I got mine from LMC as at the time they were the only place that sold SS left and right seperate mirrors. You can also choose if you want a convex mirror or not for the passenger side. I have a regular mirror on my passenger side, as I mainly just use the little round mirrors for changing lanes and such.

Dumbo lives here
the jimmys/blazers seem to have ones with a bend to bring them in closer but i put the reg burb ones on

CLASSIC87' 02-24-2011 11:47 AM

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

^^^ I maybe be wrong but I think yours got bent by accident... I haven't ever seen anything like that b4. I've had a handful of Blazers and never came across those.

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

Not like an "accident" but where someone bent them in... hell maybe someone bent them in too fit into a smaller garage... I dont know... and yeah the Canadians could very well be different.

motornut 02-24-2011 12:44 PM

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

yup had thought of someone bending them but no hint of stress there
and of course now i can't find a pic anywhere online (of others)or in my files here
still got em at home i'll get a better pic of both this weekend
close up on a table

didn't think they would bend without getting kinky or snap/break off

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

Yours are slightly taller too, so they sit higher and closer to the body. Wierd.

CLASSIC87' 02-24-2011 01:31 PM

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

^^^Looks like they may have flipped the support bar end for end and reinstalled them. If you look at the wreck burb above you can see how long they are inside the mirror housing.

Re: Trucks with Elephant Ears Mirrors

My truck had some cheap aftermarket mirrors on it when I bought it and they were shaped the same way.
