Wheel wells for 67-72

5 Attachment(s)
Check out these wheel wells for a slammed 67-72. They are in the process of being made from fiberglass and the first ones will be ready for sale in a month. Both front and rear wheel wells look like a factory GM set, but raised enough to make a low stance. The blazer below is at ride height and has lots of suspension travel! I have been surfing this site for years and enjoy the information and vendors I have found. When these become available I'm going to become a vender on this site. I welcome any feed back you might have.

My first instinct is 'no'. There's maybe an inch clearance with stock tubs, looks like these are more than that.

Man, when it rains, it pours. These will be cool. Should be able to build a completely bolt-on, frame-laying show truck soon...

This is the truck with the 'touring' dropmember, correct? So, these will clear the upper a-arms and steering shaft? If so, cool

these wheel wells will not work with stock hood hinges. I am using the hinges in the cowl from porterbuilt street rods. I set the front up with the drop member from them to. The wheel wells cover the upper control arms and mounts for a clean look.

Hey guys I have seen these wheel wells in person, these pictures do them no justice. They look like they are factory wheel wells but will allow you to lay out. Also that blazer in the above pic is at ride height.

What on the firewall and fenders needs to be modified to make these fit?

Re: Wheel wells for 67-72

The firewall does not need any modification, they bolt in to the stock mount on the firewall. The fenders need to be trimmed to the new wheel well opening, and the outside flange needs to be rolled up for more tire clearance. I made a sheet metal piece to fit the top of the wheel wells that is welded to the fender and has additional bolts to help secure the top of the well, like the stock ones. The two bolts are screwed from the bottom and are not seen from the engine bay. More pictures will follow to help show what I'm talking about.

Re: Wheel wells for 67-72

The front pair are going to run 750 and the rear will run 650. I'm going to sell front and rear with a discounted package deal. Also thinking of a group rate with discounts as well. I'm going to wait to take orders till the fiberglass ones are in my hand.

It would be great if they made a matching notch cover. To match the shape of the rear tubs and even had matching lines. Thatd be sliiiick and id have to have some

He is making rear wheelwells too. Not a cover at this time that I am aware of. I'm sure Curt will chime in soon. I have seen these wheelwells in person, who ever gets a set will not be disappointed.

Re: Wheel wells for 67-72

Definately interested in the rears, what size tire you can layout on up front will determine if im interested in fronts. I plan on runnin a 255/30/22 up front which are 28.02 inches tall and 67cheby says you can layout on a 28" tire with his which is almost perfect

If worse comes to worse i can put the wheels for the front on the back and do a burnout then theyll fit up front for sure :) lol

Ok guys the wheel wells are finally done!!! Sorry for such a delay but I put these on the backburner until I finished the Blazer they were built for. Before I offered them for sale I wanted to make sure I have everything finished for them. Boxes are ordered and we should be ready to take orders and ship February.
If you want to see these in person I will be showing the blazer @ the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona Jan. 27-29. We are suppose to be in building 6. I cannot post pictures of the blazer until after the show.

What is the max diameter wheel/tire combo that these will work with. I am running a dropmember with 22x9.5 with 5.5"bs and a 235/35/22 tire.

Wheel wells look wicked !

I have seen these wheel wells, these pictures don't do them justice. Hill's Rod & Custom have built a nice piece. The wheel wells look like stock ones. Same shape and lay out on a 28" tire. They cover all your suspension and keep your motor compartment clean. The rears are also sweet. They are wider & taller then stock. If you are in Pomona at the roadster show make sure you check out the blazer Curt built.

Thanks.
UPS has been destroying parts like crazy lately.
Add room for plenty of packing! Ha.
