Paint finally complete
3 Attachment(s)
Hello guys,
Been a member for a while but rarely post. I do love reading all of your posts and have gotten tons of useful information from this forum. I know you guys love pics so here are a few of my 86 finally done at the body shop. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. :metal: Now that it's painted I'm thinking I may need to go a tad lower. Let me know what you all think. |
Re: Paint finally complete
That's awesome! Hopefully my truck looks that nice one of these days. lol.
I'd personally keep it at the height it's at now. But that's just my opinion ;) |

Re: Paint finally complete
Looks great, I like how it sits if it was mine I wouldn't go any lower but its not mine unfortunately lol.
BTW how is it lowered I want mine to sit like that and what size rims? Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Paint finally complete
looks good..knock 2 more inches off & call it good
|
Re: Paint finally complete
I LOVE YOUR TRUCK , but Ithink its begging to be a little closer to the ground. ONLY IMO. CONGRATS
|
Re: Paint finally complete
Only way I'd consider dropping it more personally is if it were to be on air bags - otherwise you'll catch hell with speed bumps & entrance ramps most of the time... Truck looks great though man - cool color!!!

Re: Paint finally complete
Beautiful paint work. I can't wait until mine escapes paint prison. It would be great to see some additional pictures of yours without the shadows.

Re: Paint finally complete
WOW! That looks awesome. It turned out really slick. I feel it needs to be lowered just a bit more to close the gap. You have a nice tire/wheel size working, but the gap makes them look small.
You also need to paint the drums satin black when you have a chance. You can do that before you drop it off at my place...;) |
Re: Paint finally complete
Great color man! I like it a lot! I'm also for lowering it a bit to close the gap up.
|
Re: Paint finally complete
Love the color. I think it could go a little lower, too. Either way, it looks great!
|
Re: Paint finally complete
Looks smooth as glass, nice paint man! I agree it needs to be a bit lower.

The drums are on my list of to do's when I get the truck back and start reassembly but I'm at a dilemma with the interior color now. It was originally Saddle and since the truck has been at the body shop I have dyed all the interior plastics black using SEM products. After seeing the color I'm thinking Saddle may be a better option. Opinions? |

De-arch the springs Remove the overload or one in the middle of the pack Do what I'm fixing to do and put the stock hangers/shackles back on and get a flip kit. Truck looks great by the way, I think a little more drop wont hurt it. Post up some pictures of it fully in the sunlight when you can..... |
Re: Paint finally complete

When I saw that first pic I literally said, "Holy F**k." Damn, thats sweet. What color is that?

Re: Paint finally complete
My friend has a 72 Chevelle SS454 that looks just like that color. Most people think it's black but when the sun hits it theres a brown, almost gold metal flake in it. He's had it since new and repainted it twice (he owns a bodyshop). When he repainted it a couple years ago the paint was no longer available, so he had to make his own with alittle trial and error. I think he said the car came from Canada and the color wasn't really used here.
I would DEFINITELY go with saddle for the interior. |

I kept them when I removed them for the drop shackle and hangers, so mine will be coming from my storage building, lol. Other than that, I guess a salvage yard or LMC??? |
