Poll: Wheels
Having a problem deciding if I should keep my Eagle 212s or get 225s instead.

Re: Poll: Wheels
I like the 225. Thought about getting them for my truck but i have Eagle 211's and i hate them. They've had water looking spots on them since i got them and it will not cone off. I'm going with all Chrome next time

Re: Poll: Wheels
Thanks for the feedback guys. I should stipulate that if I keep the 212s, I'd spend about $1200 to get 20x10s on the back and and another half inch of rubber on the front wheels. So I think I'll spend the extra for a fresh set, specially after seeing a few examples on this forum.
Next project: interior... |

Re: Poll: Wheels
225!
square truck... square wheels (225) round truck (newer S10's)... round wheels (212) and for those that cant figure out what I mean by "square wheels"... better luck next time |
Re: Poll: Wheels
i couldn't justify spending the money for the difference in wheels, but i do like the 225's better but its such a small change. unless your current wheels are showing signs of wear and you are replacing anyway i would stick with what you have.

Unless your switching to a much larger size don't bother. You could always have them powder coated in a contrasting color. |
Re: Poll: Wheels
none of the above

Re: Poll: Wheels
If you got 2 G's to throw down, get some billet specialties Vintecs. Timeless design true billet wheels that look great on these trucks. Plus, if you sell your 212s you can afford the soles for them new shoes...feel me?
Just something to ponder on... |
Re: Poll: Wheels
If you are going to burn 2k, couldn't you find some better looking wheels? Craigslist is your friend.
|
Re: Poll: Wheels
The 225s look right at home. The other ones weren't bad just don't blend as well lol.

Re: Poll: Wheels
Thanks for all of the suggestions, but I am very particular. I've been browsing through hundreds of wheels the last few months, and while 225s arent my first choice, they are the my faves in my price range.
If I were going to spend $500+ per wheel I'd go with Budnik. Going to order them next week. We'll see how the real deal compares to my photoart. :smoke: Cheers~ |
Re: Poll: Wheels
10-4, those 225s will look sharp on there...:ito:

Re: Poll: Wheels
If you have the mula, $$$, 225 is the way to go

Re: Poll: Wheels
225's out of those two choices, but if it were me doing it, I'd find some bigger Torque Thrusts for it. I love classic designs I guess.

Re: Poll: Wheels
225 all the way the 212 are dated

Re: Poll: Wheels
HUBCAPS on STEELIES:
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/8451/hubcapsv.jpg Seriously, though... 1. There is not a big enough difference between those two styles to justify the huge expense 2. Both have been done before, especially the 225 style... 3. If you're going to spend the cash, change it up; try CCW Wheels. Maybe a set of CCW 505As or Classics? How about BBS wheels? 4. Or just leave it as is; your truck looks awesome |
Re: Poll: Wheels
Polishing wheels bites. Seriously think about getting them powder coated clear if you can.

Re: Poll: Wheels
KMK, checked out your suggestions. I'm not a fan of spokey wheels and I think they just look wrong on a big ol' square body. I'm definitely into the classic/traditional w/ modern twist thing. Thanks though :)

Here's a bonspeed wheel that's nice: http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel...ubcat3=1044100 Some more cool wheel choices in here: http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/street_rod_wheels.asp |
Re: Poll: Wheels
Bonspeed are cool but WAY out of my budget. I like a few Bozes too, but they quoted me $3000 just for the wheels.

Re: Poll: Wheels
can't go wrong on a stock looking truck

Re: Poll: Wheels
Torque Thrust!!
Oh wait, that wasnt a choice, my bad...lol ;) I kinda like the 225 better...sweet truck btw!! |
Re: Poll: Wheels
I'm voting for the 225s, but they are getting fairly common. Personally that doesn't bother me. In fact, I will be ordering mine for my black short fleet sometime this week.

Re: Poll: Wheels
Keep the 212s and spend the money on other parts.
