Dude all I saw was a crap load of numbers and letters.

gchemist 04-28-2003 10:47 PM

WOW them 4.11 gears really rock!! Only 225rwhp? :o
Posi and some traction bars!!

J-Spec C10 04-29-2003 12:46 AM

that was very quiet, but very cool too. What air pressure are you at? lower it a little, you will hook a bit better (free fix) or get better tires. Have fun!

apstguy 04-29-2003 01:13 AM

Nice!

What do you mean "Only" 225??? You think I have more than that? That # is just what my combo is "advertised" to make...

Yeah, it was quiet...but as of friday, that'll change, cuz I'm getting my new exhaust put on. (True Duals with Aerochambers) As for the tires...these are just my street tires, I have 2 275/60 15 BFG Drag Radials for the back, when my posi gets in. :D

TIMSPEED 04-29-2003 02:35 AM

BTW Guys: My foot NEVER touched the brake..that was all 100% FULL THROTTLE. :D

LOHRTBT 04-29-2003 09:18 AM

hehehe...tire smokin fun!!

TIMSPEED 04-29-2003 12:44 PM

Heck yeah! That black tire mark is literally about 40 yards long. :D Too bad there's only one of em :( I think it was weird, the truck shifted into 2nd, and KEPT SPINNING EM!

r0lf- 04-29-2003 12:54 PM

Well... wow.

Thats what you get with no wieght over the rear tires :D

PHOENIX 04-29-2003 01:59 PM

Me likes! :)
Any videos of you sliding around some corners?

Because the tires were hot and greasy. Get the posi installed and then work on getting it to hook up. Think Cal-Tracs

Sweet video though, truck is coming along nicely.

LOHRTBT 04-29-2003 02:28 PM

yeah...I have that problem too....lol....once it breaks loose I have to lift or it just boils the back tire 1,2nd and then catches in 3rd. lol

Dont like that too happen....too much $$$ burning up!

My friend has those on his 79 C10 (axle isn't flipped yet) So, after I get my posi and stuff, I'll try to figure out how to get traction. I don't think even my VETTE can boil the back tires as well as this ole' truck can!
Me and my friend both got a quote for an Eaton Posi, 3.73 gears and installation along with new axles $1500. Does that sound right?

Solarus1981 04-29-2003 03:43 PM

My '67 does that with anything less then the 32x11.5's I have on the back. It's got 3.73s and posi.... I think it's 'cause there is no weight back there :D You should see the smoke cloud with some old bias plys soaked in oil. :D

Slonaker 04-29-2003 03:50 PM

I think one of my tires made a chirping sound once. It was probably something I ran over... :)

Really. My little 305 has never been able to turn a tire in the 2 years I have owned it.

No weight over the tires makes a big difference... :D

Well, I had this for my gears
Eaton: $480
Gears: $150
install kit: $90
Setup: $150
Total is $870. If that helps you out. To me, $1500 sounds high.

Same here, I can't even power brake mine.

Yeah, but add Strange Axles and this shop is like the highest quality place AROUND here.

BaggedC10 04-29-2003 08:46 PM

That sounds a little high, Tim. I have a new 12-bolt with a 33-spline Eaton posi., Moser Drive axles, 3.73 gears, chrome differential cover, and other miscellaneous things for $1,300. That included giving the shop my factory 10-bolt. :)

apstguy 04-29-2003 09:11 PM

My 305 just started being able to sqeak. I took the muffler off, and now I gun it and it sqeaks and slips for 1/4 a revolution of the wheel. It is sad, but at least I get something now!

gmc7286chevy 04-29-2003 09:58 PM

r we supposed to be impressed?

bagged81 04-29-2003 10:10 PM

gchemist 04-29-2003 11:45 PM

You guys need to BEAT them 305's like they won't DIE!! I'm still trying to kill mine after nearly 50000 miles. May happen this June. During a tune up I could hear something that sounded like a rod knock.
I'm planning with some guys to have 1/8-1/4 mile shoot out in Temple, Texas in June. Anyone interested in joining the fun??

Me want more videos!!! :bowtie:

Well, with my carb tune, that won't happen twice! Seriously, my carb acts like two different carbs! It has to get REEEAAALLLY warmed up (about 30 minutes of running time) before it'll get really ready to rock and roll. When it's cold, it stumbles like a MOFO!
