72 burb build
This is my first C10 chassis build, I have done quite a few air ride builds and minitrucks so here we go...
Heres a rendering by a friend of mine and some pics of the last few days.. Got the motor out and I have her mostly "degreased" and cleaned up. Have a lot of shiny stuff on order for the motor, expect my PB dropmember within 2 weeks or so (ordered 7 days ago) got some ART control arms already, mustang 2 rack and pinion is on the way as well. the next month will be lots of work... http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...eringfilan.jpg and progress no real good pics yet since none of the fun stuff has begun. http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...k/IMG_0852.jpg http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...k/IMG_0854.jpg http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...k/IMG_0857.jpg And the wheels i plan on orderin in 24x9.5 with 6.5" backspace http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...Wheel24x95.jpg |

Re: 72 burb build
Yeah dude I drove it for about a week after I bought it. surprisingly everything so far is in great shape, found a tiny bit of rust where the driver fender meets the door and a tiny bit inside the doors but nothing crazy.

http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...ck/Laydout.jpg Everyone should go and support local business. Lots of my buddies own their own custom shops or water jet business or whatever.. There is going to be some big vendors and sponsors there.. If theres an event page ill post it up |

Re: 72 burb build
Oh, I didnt buy the E-level, thats just the controller, comes with a pressure switch that has memory you can set it at 200/160/120 i think.. something like that. I think the E level is a waste for a pavement pounder.

Re: 72 burb build
More waiting. gotta all my steering off. Will have a busy family weekend but will hop to stripping the frame and get her ready to accept the dropmember, then once she arrives, notch the frame for steering, and POR15 everything, then I plan on scuffing up the POR 15 and shooting silver lacquer on all suspension components.. seen it done, turns out pretty good. Also dropped my headers off to get sandblasted and coated satin black.

Re: 72 burb build
Look what i got. I was looking at a location to put my new shop and there was a company that builds steel gates going out of business. he sold me all of his steel and rack for 200 bucks.. theres about 1000lbs of all different kinds of stock. already made my money back and thats what i have left.. vedi nice

Re: 72 burb build
Well its been a while since I have posted about the suburban
Got the Porterbuilt DM all buttoned up with the ART tubular control arms shaved up a bit cuz there was some rubbing. picked up a tone of little stuff for the truck. Ordering some 24X12 and 24X9 raceline speedster 5s in about a week or so. Ordering Porterbuilt trailing arm DM with inside the frame bag mounts for the nice wide wheels Billy bobs customs in Aberdeen is going to handle all the body and paint for me. Not sure about upholstery, still have to find a set of seats I like for the front and rear. Gonna run dakota digital gauges for sure and run a big center console housing some electronics. Lots to do and lots to think about |
Re: 72 burb build

Re: 72 burb build
So i decided to order the PB inside frame rail trailing arm dropmember, should be in within a couple weeks now. Josh Jones of Jones Paint Innovations is going to be picking up the truck at the end of the month to do all the metal work and paint. I have almost everything I need for the truck now minus brakes, steering column, and engine stuff. Sitches Custom Auto Upholstery is doing the interior hopefully october timeframe... here are some thoughts as to body and front end.
