I'll take one. Send me your address and the shipping costs + $30.00 to: Austin, TX 78741

I'm getting ready for my 350 so I need the dual exhaust!!

Bobs76 05-06-2003 07:46 AM

Thanks guys, I will have them built and ready to ship by friday. I have to go do some work today to make up for my job now letting me go..:( They will all be painted black unless you want me to leave them without paint. Let me know if that is OK.

gchemist 05-06-2003 06:00 PM

Black is okay with me. I may have it powder coated later. Sorry to hear about your work. Hey you ougth to try selling them on ebay too. I bet you could make a few extra bucks along the way.

I see you have a 350TH or 400th in the pictures. Mine is a 700R4 just in case you need to make it a little different.

Anyone want a 700R4 tranny crossmember when I put the new one on? :D

bigblock73 05-06-2003 08:41 PM

I'll take mine black too. Sorry to hear about the job...hopefully something will turn up. :)

G, all crossmembers are the same, it is just the location on the frame that is different.

gchemist 05-06-2003 09:11 PM

Will this one bolt up to the stock holes or will I have to drill new ones?

crossy 05-06-2003 09:31 PM

black is fine. make me two of them, DAVE

Bobs76 05-06-2003 11:30 PM

Well black it is then. They will bolt up to the factory holes, thats the way I wanted them. (Just Plug and Play if you will)
I have thought about putting them on e-bay. I think I could make a few extra bucks on there. I will be building them tomorrow and I can ship anytime after that. I do have a paypal acct if it will make it easier for anyone.
Also all crossmembers are the same its where they are bolted up at, ie: long tailshaft or short, 700r or 350,400. I have used several different trannys in trucks before.
Thanks for all the help and support guys, If I can ever return the favor I will...:burnout:

wlarue72 05-06-2003 11:57 PM

Bob, sent you an e-mail. Let me know when is a good time to pick one up. Thanks, David

gchemist 05-07-2003 12:17 AM

Just PM your e-mail address and I can pay pal too. Or I can send a money order. Which ever you prefer.
Hey you can weld. Want to do my exhaust? :D

Bobs76 05-07-2003 07:48 PM

Important!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I need to know the year models of your trucks and if your tranny mount has 1 bolt or 2. If I am right the newer models have 2 and the older models have 1. I can leave the crossmembers with no holes for the mount and you can drill them to match your mount preference. I will post a pic of the one I just completed in a few mins.

wlarue72 05-07-2003 11:00 PM

Hey Bobby, mine is a 78 GMC and it has two!

phantom dually 05-07-2003 11:11 PM

Have you thought about making your member so that it mounts like factory. Mine has mounts on upper and lower of both frame rails. This design was used to eliminate frame flex. I know my frame is thin. My truck is a 83.

phantom dually 05-07-2003 11:14 PM

By the way the member looks great. You ought to make up a jig and fab a bunch up. These could easily go for $100.

CRRoy71 05-08-2003 07:30 AM

Can you make one to fit a 4x4?

Bobs76 05-08-2003 07:40 AM

Yeah I thought about making a jig and welding table, but I need to make room in the garage.I got too many projects n there. Hopefuly I will have it cleared out this weekend.
I also thought about making it bolt up on top and bottom like factory, I just need to use my bare frame and design it.

My dad thinks that the older trucks (73-80) had the 2 bolt mount and the neweerr ones had 1.

Bobs76 05-08-2003 07:43 AM

CRRoy71 I would have to look at a 4x4 and take some measurements, I am sure it could be done, possibly a little more reinforcement where it bolts to the frame. let me check to see if I can get some measurements.

CRRoy71 05-08-2003 08:57 AM

That would be great, please let me know.

bigblock73 05-08-2003 09:00 AM

Mine has two holes....its a 73.

I am still interested! :)

-Jeff

gchemist 05-08-2003 12:39 PM

Nice idea on bolt the crossmember to the top and bottom of the frame rail.
Question: Does the bolt plate on the end extend on both sides of the main member?
Opss just looked at one of the pics. Can I have mine extend on both sides? I would like to use bolts on both sided for bracing.
