Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Okay I have been having an issue with classic performance products I have installed a frame mounted master cylinder assembly and the proportioning valve gushes fluid from the metering valve end and the rear brake line end when I tried to bleed the system! I have spoken with two separate reps in their tech department and they are still wanting me to install a kit to repair their defective part!!The real kicker is that the kit is for the metering portion which has nothing to do with the rear also leaking. Has anyone else had problems with these people....:fb:

Only you, me, and anyone else who buys from them. Check out this part of the board for reporting bad vendors...CPP comes up again and again. We live and learn.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
I have several CPP parts on my truck and have had no problems. I will certainly continue to buy their products. My only complaint is with their website. They could learn a lot from Summit Racing's website.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well after contacting the tech service dept. ,who seemed a little less than eager to help I ended up having them sell me a new valve and then I have to send mine(the first one I received )back so they can decide if it's defective! So CPP really wants to help?Hmmmm..... IT LEAKS FLUID AFTER EVEN INSTALLING THEIR KIT TO FIX IT!!!!!

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Did the second valve leak in the same place as the first one, at the brake line nut?
|
Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Still waiting on the second one to get here .I put the kit in just to satisfy their tech dept.
|
Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
It actually leaks from the top where there is a rubber plug that is held in by a small clip on the rear brake line fitting on the valve

I have dealt with Randy Moore through this ordeal.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Ok i appreciate your info, so at this point have you been taking care of? Please advise. Thanks.. In defense of the way the salesman handled the prop valve with sending you the replacement part that normally fixes the issue, the way he was less than excited to help you have my deepest appologies for that.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
No I haven't been taken care of I still have to ship the first one back at my expense! And hope that they will credit me the cost back ,and at this point I will be out the shipping and I still have to pay for one until they credit me.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well I still have paid for the one which should be here Thursday,so until they credit me back for the one which I had to purchase and credit me for the shipping on the first one back I am no where near taken care of . I understand parts issues arise every now and then , not every supplier has a 100% perfect record ,but this is kinda silly! So until I am credited back the shipping and the cost of the second valve I feel that no I am not taken care of.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well in all fairness what should have happened was the defective part should have been replaced no questions asked and a replacement sent with a return shipping tag inside the box.The brake system has not even been bled due to this defective proportioning valve. I have dealt with many manufactors in my 30+ years of working on automobiles and the warranty policy on the part of CPP is less than desirable. If this is standard procedure then your upper management should review it as I am sure that I am not the only customer who has felt the unfairness of it.This issue is not just the shipping its about quality products and quality service after the sale. Without customers you and every employee there are not needed.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well it's not as if I haven't ever had a defective part and I am positive that the supplier will refund the cost of the product to CPP. Therefore they should be willing to do whatever is needed to keep customers coming back. You mentioned that you would make the shipping up on future orders but with the service that I have received at this point I can not guarantee that I will be back . When the dust settles ,you recieve the defective part ,and then we discuss my credit then I will make that choice.
Jeff I understand you are only an employee and you are putting up a valiant effort but the flip side is you alone should not have to fight thier battles . Until they change the policy you will be stuggling with this issue. Like I had previuosly stated they will go back on thier supplier . I doubt they manufactor this product and in the end CPP will get refunded and so should any other person involved. |

Thaks for bringing this policy to my attention. My policy is simple, I send you money you send me a PERFECT product that is as good as my money you are spending. I have yet to get a refund on a perfect product, because my money was no good. |

Well the part arrived and I have bled the brakes ? Guess what they now work and the new proportioning valve doesn't leak! Now CPPJEFF lets see what happens when I return the old one back to your place of business. TO BE CONTINUED..............

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Okay I lobbed the ball back into their court with returning the junk piece of crap proportioning valve , I left a description of the defect ,and contact information in the box . It was sent with delivery confirmation with signature required. But yet I have heard no information regarding my part I have also sent a private message to CPPJEFF. This has all been over a week ago since they recieved it and still nothing. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! HA

Thank you Jeff when the statement arrives then I will post but until then I will remain neutral. Sorry to be blunt but at this point it's just words and after all this I still can't be positive that things are straight.:(

LMAO I can't say I blame the GMTrucknut!
This is, after all, the same multi million dollar company that wouldn't refund another guy for waiting 7 months to get a tilt column. |

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well CPPJEFF I have checked my statement and you have sent a credit .I am pleased but yet CPP it is a company who really doesn't care if you like their policies or not . They should be happy that you are an employee. If they cared why would my returned part lay there until you went and retrieved it,why would the tech department half listen and then send a part which would not repair the defective part, and why did a person (namely you )have to make excuses for their actions. All in all you have made a horrible experience better ! Thank you Jeff, evidently you must be an unknown backbone to them !:ennyd:

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
You are, or at least were an unhappy customer. I suppose the policies in use may or may not be fair to you, and in the end you say it was a horrible experience (and I may point out you are not the first). However what no one has mentioned is that throughout the whole ordeal Jeff has been sarcastic to you and I both, and highly defensive of CPP. When we try to explain something nicely, it's a wisecrack. When we express unhappiness we are told we "can't come to bat" like they can. Here's the deal...I've never ever been treated like that by Speedway motors, Summit Racing, LMC or anyone else. Rude and disrespectful plain and simple. In the hospital I work in if a patient complains no one says "Hey why don't you just go somewhere else?", we try to be apologetic, fix the problem, and make sure it never happens again. I'm sure Jeff will have a smart alek remark for this post as well but remember...substandard parts and extremely poor customer service do not equal repeat customers.

Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
i give my props to jeff and not blowing i fuse yet lol.
cpp is getting to be my last choice. 1. i hate having to look for stuff under the web site 2. calling you guys is drag.. long wait times 3.BACK ORDER are a pain Jeff take some of this and make a change |
Re: Classic Performance Products complaints ?
Well guys I have tried to keep my cool and look past his sarcasm. His statements have been less than professional ,but he did get back part of the expense that I accrued due to their sub-standard service. The tech department needs to learn from this also. Hey besides if 5 people read this and decide that well maybe someother supplier is better due to customer service that is great. :truck:
The whole issue could have been avoided by replacing the valve which I am sure is not manufactered by them and their supplier will now refund the cost to them. Several other companies that I have dealt with in my 30+years of working on automobiles have policies which will pay the customer flat rate to replace defective items and then they also profit from as they send the said charges back to the supplier thus no intangible damage is done to their own reputation. But again thank you Jeff if I ever decide I need parts from CPP again I will directly deal with you!:metal: |
