I'm saving so I can afford gas for my new motor...

phantom dually 06-01-2003 10:12 PM

Dude that motor is the $#!T. By the way Im saving for a new angle grinder. I burnt mine up today. I think by tommorrrow I should have enough saved to buy one!!!

ChrisK10 06-01-2003 11:14 PM

WOW that is a VERY nice motor indeed!

I'm saving for my trip to FLIN FLON, CANADA, (sounds familiar doesn't it! :D ) in 2 weeks. I already got enough money for that so.... now I'm saving money so I can fix up the 1979 when/IF I ever get it. ROFL  However, my dad told me today that the current owner of the truck is on his way back from Texas now. He is a 70 year old truck driver. His truck broke down, tried to have it fixed, that didn't work, tried to get a loan for a new truck, that didn't work either, so now he is going to retire. LOL. He was supposed to be back Easter but then his truck broke down. So I am more than ready for him to get back so I can get the 79 from him.

Too bad I'm full of chit. I wish that was my motor. It really is sweet. It's actually the motor in a 67 Nova that my buddy is building for a customer...

SCOTI 06-02-2003 12:47 AM

I've been to the shoppppppppp, & that is one bright mother. I think they are ready for it to be out of there though.

The Ramblers engine compartment is coming along nicely as well.

79BIG10 06-02-2003 03:02 AM

Damn where's that shop at? I'd be drooling over that thing!! Tubed fram and everything!! That must be a $$$$$ shop

bpmcgee 06-02-2003 08:31 AM

I'm saving so that I have something worthwhile to reply to this thread.

That shop is actually just a hole in the wall kinda place . . .... if you drove by it & didn't know where to look, you'd miss it.

It's not so much the shop, it's the talent of the guys in the shop that's most impressive.

The car was an original 66 chevII 283/PG, bahama blue, buckets & console car. It now sports a complete rectangular/round tube mild steel frame w/enough tub for a 14x32 slick, 502+ ci motor w/juice, & lenco trans. It's now bright, b r i g h t, viper red.

messed up c-10 06-02-2003 03:56 PM

I'm saving for my 383, new trans., Hood scoops, new gears for the rear end, buckets, maybe a drop kit, and saving to get the truck repainted. I'm gonna be saving for a long time.

Moody Blue 06-02-2003 08:05 PM

I am marryied.....I save so she can spend....hummm whats up with that?

boataddict26 06-02-2003 08:52 PM

That motor is SWEET!! Im saving for a paint job and a swb bed with no rust.

I couldn't have said it any better. If you walk in this little shop, you won't see much. Yeah, they got some tools that most shops don't have laying around, but not many.

The two guys that work at this shop do it in there spare time. They turn out more stuff than most full time shops do. The quality is fantastic too.

They are a couple of talented guys that Scoti and I both call friends. We do that so they will work on our stuff...:D

Dang! He painted it red! Wow! It was nice when it was blue. I saw the pics of the Rambler, Keith has gone freaky on that hasn't he....

SCOTI 06-03-2003 10:55 AM

Yeah, I don't think Roger cared for the blue. We tried talking the owner into putting it back like stock (trim, emblems, color), but he wants flash & stripes down the side. I think the stripes will date the paint where as the solid color w/fact trim is a classic approach that just doesn't go out of style.

As for that Rambler . . .... slicked block, engine compartment, polished or plated everything . . ..... I think he knocked something loose upstairs w/that last spill he took on his 4-wheeler. But, if I had the means, I would do the same stuff as well. I'm just glad he left it a flathead.
