original (not modified) truck pics

I like original trucks, not modified. I noticed that none of the trucks in the great new 2013 calendar are original, w/o mods. I'd like to see pics of original trucks, not modified. Would you please post pics of original trucks. (it seems that the first thing to go is the wheels and then the steering wheel). Thanks, any takers.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

The steering wheels go because usually they're cracked. The wheels are long gone because they got swapped out for rally's and steelies are rare as hens teeth.

Joe, have you done a thread on this rascal with oh, say, 200 pictures of this thing? I'd love to see every grease mark and color on it.

I would rather see the work of the General than a 'Paco's Custom'
Originals are timeless, who knows if today's customs will look good in 50 years

WOW! Thank you all. It's amazing how you folks have managed to keep these trucks looking so good and up and running. Thank you! So many different types of hubcaps and painting on the grills. The paint back then must have been lead based or some other serious material to last so long. No wonder it's not easy for a beginner to keep track of what's supposed to be there and what's not. I'm amazed. More pics please. I'll get pics on of dads truck soon. Interior pics too!

I think I found my new favorite thread on here! Love to see stock trucks... The first thing I look at on an old truck is to see if the steering wheel, radio, and wheels have been changed...

Here's a more recent picture of my '72 K2500. I had redone the gutter seal and the paint was flaking off the primer because I thought it was sanding/sealing primer and went right over it. I went to redo it and discovered the seam sealer I had used wasn't doing it's job (3M). It peeled up easily (stayed pliable) and I did the whole thing over with better stuff this time. I also removed the rear window and put a new gasket & slider in. Glad I did, too! When they put the factory slider in they used a sealer that dried and cracked. It allowed space between the body and gasket. Water was getting in and it was potted all along the top and bottom. It turned into a big project and it's all good now. So,anyone with original sliders I suggest you check that out!
