It's like this
I started this truck awhile ago and then got side tracked. But I am back on it now around my other adventures in truck builds. So I will just kinda catch it up to where it is today in a hurry |

Re: 66 SBFS street truck
Two steps forward and back again that happens. What really counts is your ending up with a totally sick ride.

So I re did some of the front end in this project ( coils sway bar all of that stuff )I wasn't happy with the powder coating that was on it so I redid it....and it came back and I put it all back together again...........Also started to pull wire in the chassis the other day and am hiding as much of it as possible...... On a wiring note I am really getting fussy about how i do my stuff now and have learned so much from everyone else that I would just show this....
For what it's worth.... When we do old school gauges we add plugs to the harness because it's so nice to be able to just take them right out and not have them hanging there scratching things and sparking..... PS this truck is back in my project line up now.... |
Re: 66 SBFS street truck

Re: 66 SBFS street truck
It's taken awhile but we are making some serious progress on the hulk truck...Managed to get 90% of the prewire into the truck now and the AC/heat unit is installed.....but for some reason i can't post pictures because it wants me to resize them all.....i will have to figure out whats up with all of that...ugh

Re: 66 SBFS street truck
I almost resorted to drawing pictures.
I use a off site picture host and go hog wild on consumption of bandwidth. |

A idea of how much wire this truck has and hard we are trying to hide it all ....Still not excatly what i am going to do with my ac lines but i think I am going to leave them on the inside of the fenders.....but not attached to the inners. I don't want anything hanging on the inner fenders of this build it makes it so hard to keep polished fenders clean where i am....

Re: 66 SBFS street truck
Well i haven't forgot this thread .....
The box is roughed out and been block sanded 3 times now and should be painted next week..... Bought the new steering column and recieved it.....blasted all the pedal assembly and painted in chassis saver ( i just love the texture and colour of it ) So over the next few weeks i hope to make some head way on this truck and be back on it...I want to have it ready for the spring and on the road..... |
Re: 66 SBFS street truck
So do we! :metal:

I have been slammed building other peoples projects and my shop is jammed but after going to SEMA and hanging out at the Dino's git down and ending up at the good guy's show.....I seem to be all over my own stuff..lmao.
Had a great time down there with my 58 and put lots of good miles on it and that was the best trip I have had in sometime.....Thats my 58 behind Dino's prostreet truck.... |

just a few reasons I am behind on this build.....This is the 53 chevy truck... I am doing " Blue " its for one of the best buddies a guy can have and there is a entire crew of people helping to get it done . It's crazy all the mods that have been done, over 30 body mods of the truck alone.....

Okay this one is my fault....
66 big window with a 3 on the tree and factory OD on the dash and it has helper springs and a big old brake booster mounted on the inner fender. I have to do some more research on the booster but i am leaving it on and this is kind of a patina retro build. |

Well the wood kit for the box....
I stained this along time ago and I have had it sitting around waiting for the day I needed it. But I thought I would give it a blast of clear and then thats when the troubles started. When I did my 58 I used the same stain but sanded most of it off to give it a more patina look and then sprayed it with several light coats and wet sanded it between each of course. So i wiped the stain down lightly with some thinner waited a few hours to make sure it was all dry then brushed a light coat onto the wood.....it's been more then 24 hours and it still hasn't dried yet........here is thinking it will be dry tomorrow. |

Well the box sides are all prep'd and ready to go almost.....let me tell you those sides have been blocked inner and outer over and over and over again and they are with out a doubt the straightest and cleanest sides i have ever had done.....
