Someone in Everett, WA.
I need someone who lives either in Everett, Wa. or close to Everett to swing by an address for me. I would be gratefull if someone could. I believe that I just got scammed, but am hoping not. I keep getting the run around from a guy that I put a good faith down payment on a Blazer for. I got in a hurry to purchase this and didn't use my good judgement. The guys name is Scott Guthrie and the address that he gave me was 5603 Wetmore Ave. / Everett, WA. 98203
He says that his father just died and his family is up from California. That dealing with his father's death and his relativeshas been occupying his time. However, I don't know if that was just a story to put me off. Everett is almost 100 miles from me so it isn't that easy for me to just close the office and do a drive by. He was supposed to bring it to me so he could get some extra money for delivery. I have been calling his number all day long, (he was supposed to deliver the Blazer yesterday) and all I get is the voice mail. Maybe someone could call him to see if he is just ignoring my calls. Just tell him you have the wrong number. His number is 425-210-3602. Thanks for any help I can get. WES |

Wes, I have mornings free. I could drive by and have a look or something.
|
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
He is still not answering when I call. stomper, If you could do that, it would be great. He tells me that the Blazer is already loaded onto a trailer ready to bring down to me. So if you see a Blazer on a trailer, then at least I know that it exists and I will drive up there then myself to get it. I don't want anyone to confront him or anything, I am just trying to verify things right now. WES

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
At this point I don't even know if it is his real address....:waah: WES

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Wes,
The address comes back as "Guthries Construction Company" The phone is a Cingular wireless so he could be anywhere. |
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
The name he uses is Scott Guthrie, so some sort of connection? WES
|
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Looks a little better
|
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Is there another phone number for Gutheries Construction? I am looking on-line for one and I am not finding it. WES
|
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
I called again and left a message that I was going to get the police involved, but still no return call. WES
|
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
I can take a look tomorrow.:mm:

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Thank you stomper. WES

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Maybe be a little sneaky. Call him from a number that he won't recognize and explain to him that UPS just dropped off some packages. One of which was addressed to him. Tell him that you're near where he is and that you'll swing by with it then ask him to verify the address. It could work?

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
At only a hundred miles away I would pay him a visit in person!

Once I find out this is his address I will. I don't want to approach anyone that he may have used their information though. WES

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
I just called the construction number given in Angies list (Thank you Sillyoldman) and the voice is the same as what I heard on the cell number.
However I just received a return call from the number on Angie's list and the guy claims he doesn't know Scott Guthrie. (The plot thickens) GRRR WES |
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
It is a shame you may be out of luck but take a day and then you can get the police if needed. Just think of the feeling watching him go directly to jail.

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Not paypal, I am afraid. Western Union. I appriciate anything anyone can do to help me bring this to a conclusion. I will drive up there and contact the police if need be. I realy feel stupid for falling into this scam if it turns out to be one. WES

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
The western union and the fact that he has answered everyone's call but yours makes it seem fishy. I would definitely be driving around Everett looking for my blazer. It sounds like you can find him somewhere around the business location he gave the address for. I would go to that location and then call the number and see if someone reaches for a phone.
I hope it works out for ya. Frank Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Hope this works out for you Wes, but it's starting to smell like 5-day-old fish. I wouldn't wait much longer before filing a police report.

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Wes, may b steering you inbthe wrong direction bit is Lynwood near Everett. I found a Scott Guthrie was arrested by Lynwood pd and that Scott A Guthrie (1972) os an alias for Kenneth Brian Payton. Go to vinelink and click on Washington state and type in the names of who you are looking for. In some states you can search offenders with court dates amd even view their next court dates and charges. Ill look for a mugshot next. Again, this may not be the same guy but if it is, this info may help the police.

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Quick search, no mugshot but Kenneth B Payton was arrested 4/15/13 by Washington State Patrol and taken to Snohomish Co. He is out of custody though. Hope this isnt your guy

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Hopefully this is just a simply "misunderstanding"....

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
5603 Wetmore is a block East of Harbor Freight. Sorry Wes. No blazer. Made 2 laps around the block and thru the alley. 3 or 4 Hondas, an old cherokee, bags of trash, and some kids play equipment. I snapped some pix for you but I can't load them to this post with my damn droid. His neighbors had a couple GMC C20's.

Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Wes, Here is the property owner info for that address (public info)
https://www.snoco.org/proptax/(bxehp...tmore%20ave%2A Type in parcel number 00495800500600 It may very well be a rental.. It also looks as if Brian Payton (Alias Scott Guthrie) has been arrested several times in the last few months, http://mugshot-catalog.com/booking/4...KENNETH-PAYTON http://arre.st/WA-999108168 http://arre.st/WA-999068072 I think it may be time to contact Everett PD. |
Re: Someone in Everett, WA.
Found this, it seems to match the info you have, but no idea how reliable it is.

Not that you'd do what I did when I was young and had rougher edges, WES. But one time long ago, on what *I* thought was a big deal, I decided on the do-it-yourself approach. It was *almost* a life-changing event. I was lucky. Now, I keep that stuff bottled up as a defensive move only. Argggg! It sucks to get snookered. Seems to be especially bad when it's on something that we all love. I'm looking forward to seeing the guy go down. Leagally, that is. :metal: |
