BUT tomorrow I start tearin' it apart. The next time it is in one piece it will be a thing of beauty. Wish me luck, and thanks in advance for answering the huge amount of questions I will be asking during this project. :D

FRENCHBLUE72 07-20-2003 09:49 AM

Look's like a pretty clean start just pace your self so you don't get burned out....Last time my truck was on the road was 2-1-00 had to buy a blazer cause I missed driving my truck.....

Stocker 07-20-2003 10:25 AM

Looks like a pretty good starting point... you're lucky to have the time & place (and everything else!) to tackle a frame-off! :D

ginter 07-20-2003 11:19 AM

Doesn't look all that bad right now. Good luck man.

lukecp 07-20-2003 11:25 AM

That truck looks pretty straight and solid....great place to start a frame-off from :). What are your plans for it?

Truck looks good already! You cant have an ugly 67-68. Just those other years can be ugly ;) ;) haha All you need to do is paint it all one color and lower it and you are SET! ;0

Have fun with it!

I can relate....But as others have said it looks good now. To be really ugly you must add a few more colors to the mix.

Small window cabs are sweet

Chevy4Life 07-22-2003 11:10 AM

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. :flag:

yellow72custom -I plan on a 3-1/2"- 5" or 4"-6" drop, 383/700r4, wood bed floor, Late model seat. (The short list)

krue -I really don't know what color yet (maybe dark blue)

jhwkns -Thanks. I'm in Green Valley. :flag:

Well I didn't get a lot done to the truck Sunday. After picking up the new compressor and sand blaster, then wiring up the 220 all I did was pull the diff cover. It has posi  but 4.11 gears, I was hoping for 3.73 or at least a 3 series carrier. Hopefully I'll have time before this weekend to get the bed and front end off.

Been a while since I've posted. Went looking at some old threads. Including this one.

How's the truck coming along? Let's see some pics!

Chevy4Life....have fun, pace yourself, and you can't take your $$$ with you so spend it on your truck. :metal:

I would assume that since we have not heard anything about this truck in 5 years it is propably sold, sitting unfinished in a back yard, or finished along time ago. It could also be a combination of 2 out of 3

WOW... 5 years later. It's been drivable (NOT finished)for about 2 years, but it mostly just sits in the driveway. I went to a local car show in late Sept. and it really got me mad that my truck STILL wasn't ready. SO, I just gutted the cab, ordered up sound deadener and carpet. I'm picking up $600 in mostly interior parts from BROTHERS TRUCKS when I head out to Cali next week. After that it's just minor body work, paint and wheels. I'll try to find some more recent pics.

Glad to hear that is still with us, that is the important part. I thought mine would only be down for its face lift about 6 months to a year. That was in November of 2002. Well it's at least going together, I think

Be good to see some newer picts of yours too.

Not too hard to understand. I don't think it's ugly at all. It looks good enough as it is to sit in the driveway, and as long as is runs, it's still a good ol' truck.

After years of driving old Chevys WAY worse than yours I finally poured a mess of $$$$$$$$ into mine and it's STILL not really finished. I guess that's why it's such a great hobby - it's never REALLY finished. It seems there's always something more to do.
