FREE 1961 Short bed frame whole/parts
 

I have a 61 swb frame sitting in the yard. Has complete suspension. Anybody who wants it or any parts off of it can come get them. I will have the frame towed off for scrap in 2 weeks if its not gone by then. Bring tools for whatever you want, although I can help some with tools and labor. If you want the whole frame as it is, its your. Frame is straight, has the HO 52 10 bolt rear (gear unknown), and all front/rear suspension is there. Originally was a fleetside w/6cyl and 3 speed, but could be used with a stepside if desired pretty easily.

I really hate to send it to the scrap yard as the front end components are expensive for the 60-62's, and I'd like to just find a good free home for it, but either way....in two weeks it'll be gone.

Take a little or take a lot, but please come take it.

does it roll? I have a truck and trailer and am only around 40 miles away. I need a swb frame for a project but never have dealt with the torsion bar front suspension. I know about the x frame brace but can a later model cross member be installed like a 78 1/2? I have a lot of left over parts and is that rear ten bolt, 1/2 ton 6 lug?

The frame has rims and tires on it, but I need the two rear tires/rims as they are off my other project. We can get the frame loaded, but I would need to take off the two rear tires/rims once its loaded. The cab and front end in the picture are not included. I will help with what labor and tools I can. I have a jack and 4 way lug, which is really about all that would be needed. Frame will roll, hasn't been moved in 3 months, but that shouldn't be an issue. I would recommend a come-a-long just as a backup to get it loaded.

sounds good, I use a come along any way to load. Had 2 winches stolen off my trailer. I think have 2 6 lug wheels. Still for me, the main question is will I be able to swap a later model crossmember and suspension to the front? I have heard all sorts of horror stories about the torsion front suspension and my left over suspension parts are for later models.

If I can use a later model bolt one suspension on this frame I will "TAKE IT" and can pick it up Friday.

2 more pics. I took the rear driver side tire off Sunday due to a bad valve stem. Frame looks good other than surface rust and damage to one frame horn (see top mounting bolt) should be an easy fix.

If quick silver can get it let him have it. I only need the trailing arm set up so I would rather see him be able to use the whole frame.

I haven't seen one of the frames since the 80's didn't realize the were boxed like that, a bonus! hat looks like a good foundation for a tough 4X4 only have to box toward the front.

If it makes it to me for some reason I really need a frame for my 60 the one I picked up for it was rotten on the back third and I hauled it off for scrap...I'm doing a frame off on a 60 bbw short fleet and need a frame real bad...62chevy302 was actually trying to help me out and was speaking for me he knows my frame issues I'm in Asheville and can make the drive

if he takes this one, there was a 63 swb frame in nc about 2hrs east of me and i think it was only $200. ill see if i can find the link. unless your specific on a 60-62 frame

I had a powder coated 64 frame I just traded to try and keep correct stuff under it but thanks for that

Hey if you really need a 60-62 frame go for it.......I see the 63-66 frames come up once in a while so they aren't that rare. for somebody to really need/want that year frame I will step aside..............63-10 if you have that link for the other frame cool. Email me or

Thanks but I went out and bought one. i figured it went to a good home and i did some searching and found one. 6 hours on the road and $280 bucks instead of 2 hours and about 25 buck in gas. My good deed still counts doesn't it? (-:

ill let you know in a few days clyde. ive got a guy 15min away who says he'll take it. if he doesnt show up i'll get them off for you and you can cover shipping and have them we're under 8" on snow right now, so give me a week to see if he shows up.

I am really needing the reared for a frame out on a 65 that I am doing for my wife. Some dummy put a borg warner unit from an Iroc under her baby, and its just to darn narrow. Im in ohio but have the equipment and the time to come and save this frame from the crusher, if you will let me.

If you want to come and get parts your more than welcome to Mattacorn1. The front bed mounts have been claimed by clyde 65, but you can have whats left of the frame or what parts you want off of it.

I still have the rear end. Its complete from drum to drum. I do not have a torch. I can help with what labor you might need to remove & load. I have the basic hand tools if they are any help, but welder and torch are on my to get list for this year. I will PM you my address
