Saying hello from Washington State

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone, I am a total newbie checking in, who has wanted a 60's Chevy truck since I was a little kid. Well with the wife's approval, I finally pulled the trigger on a 66 C20. I feel that I am probably in over my head, but that is the fun of learning new skills huh? Any other folks out there, that are from Washington? I looked for truck clubs but didn't find any around here. Hope you all are well, and are enjoying your trucks as much as I hope to enjoy mine.

Hello and welcome! I'm not from Washington, but a couple of my trucks are! Seems to be a hotbed of sorts up there for finding survivor type pickups. Yours looks good in the one pic, but you should be aware that we are all photo junkies here. More pics!

Thanks for the welcome, I will try and get some more pics on here soon. Just got it tuned up, and drivable. I am pretty excited with what I have to start with, all lights and gages work. Engine and tranny work and shift well. It has some rust issues, but fixing it will have to wait a while til I get some "play" money again. I am just happy to drive it, and my little girls are loving Daddie's "new" truck :)

Hi Tj, I was born and raised in Eugene. Oregon still feels like home for me, and I try to get back whenever possible. I look forward to the journey, but damn I wish I had taken advantage of a lot of classes I had available in High School, I feel so unprepared.

Thanks Mike, I think I did alright, I sat on the money for quite a while, lots of looks at Craigslist, and quite a lot of test drives, or tire kicking, until the right one came along. I guess it is mine now, so I have to love it ;)

Re: Saying hello from Washington State

I would suggest making a list of what you want to do and then pick 1 or 2 that can be done easily in a weekend. And continue that until you run out of smaller projects. It helps with the motivation if you keep the truck driveable for the most part. If you get your truck tore down with a big project it is easy to get discouraged. The big projects are usually inevitable, but I wouldn't tackle one so soon.

Hey I'm also looking for a truck club in Washington lol all us Washingtonians should start one ... Dam never did I let a girl tell me what vehicle or vehicles I could own .. True story  I was dating a girl who really like me and I really liked her but then she said to me something along the lines of "you can't own that vehicle if your with me I won't let you" .. Been dating for 3 moths at this time I got up chucked up the duces and said see you later lol

But no seriously we as men need are cars and trucks it keeps us sain ... Oh yeah truck club would be cool to start ... I alway fantasized of hundreds of classic Chevy trucks driving down the road in formation haullen ass an sucking up gas lol I'm gunna put that as my tag

Welcome from Olympia, WA.

Here is my '62 SWB C10.

It's a lifetime California truck that I bought off a Redding, California Craigslist ad and had trucked up here.

I'm putting a new crate 350 in it right now because the original 283 was getting pretty tired.

I'm keeping anything and everything that belongs on the truck to save its future collectability.
