DFW guys & Kellers....
The 'Flores Performance' guys were out again. 4 swb 81-87's, all tubbed to varying degrees w/big blocks + 2 67-72's w/similar set-ups as well. All pretty decent looking trucks & all had big slicks or M/T's & the big blue bottle.

Running 8's (or 9's for that matter) is a lot harder than it looks w/a vehicle that does double duty. I've had several friends that ran 454+ cubic inches w/N2o & still didn't break out of the 10's & they had 'tubbed' trucks w/slicks.
I'm pretty sure one of these guys would be willing to put a pink slip up for grabs if you feel like coming to Dallas & think your truck has what it takes to get it.... These trucks don't look like 'show queens'. They look more along the lines of 'Sat night specials'. They are 'work' trucks (as in their sole purpose is to generate $$). Also, since there's more than just one truck in the stable, I would guess they have progressively improved w/each, having learned from their mistakes. I'll ask next time I see them what their avg track times are. |
No pics??
what track where u at . i haven;t seen them in a while . when red line open they went there for a while
i'm tubing mine this week
Man, it's been too long since I've been out to Keller's. :( Maybe soon I'll get out there again. I've never really seen many 73-87s out there, other than us Southern Bowties guys. :)
Last night was the first time in the last 6 weeks that I've been able to go. The last couple of times the 'Flores Performance' group wasn't there in force, just one or two of them.
Once it cools off some I might take the top off the Jimmy and drive down some weekend. Lets see.....cooling off in Texas = mid november? :D

Any of you regulars who go to Kellers know a guy named Scott Swanson in a new Lightning? I think he is there EVERY weekend. He used to hang out up here in Paris. A lot of them call him Nitrous Boy I think lol.
Just wondering. Brad |
I haven't seen him. It's been awhile for me to head out there as well. I need a good #5 and a few brews too.
we should go out there in a couple weeks

i go on sat . with some buddy when we go . i have not been since i've my trucks dnow . or being rebuild

Sat nights are better if you want to see more vehicles & don't mind paying the $5 cover charge. Beers are $1.65, so if you bring a truck w/1 friend/spouse it's still $5 & your money has gone 2x as far. I drank a beer once so I know $1.65 is a good price ;) .
lol
Yeah you can't beat the $1.65 beer for sure.
was that draft or bottle
so what Saturday night are we going?!?!?
That's for bottles (bottles and cans only). On Friday night's it's $1.30 long necks!!! Don't forget the #5 while you're there. A burger will never taste the same after that!!:D I'd be willing to go on a Saturday, as long as it's not Aug. 9th (KOTH at Redline). I/we prefer Fridays.
Fridays better for me. Saturdays gets too busy with alot of crazies
i'm down for whenever everyone wants to go a fri or sat or whenever
I WANNA GO! I WANNA GO! I WANNA GO !!:whine: :p
I unfortunately cannot go tonight, but maybe we can plan on next Friday? What's everyone's thoughts?

Man, you guys making me upset, I used to live right near Redline (10 min) and would go every weekend. Now I live near houston and the closest strip is like an hour away. I wish I could get up there and see the Flores Performance trucks. They sound awesome. I never really saw any real fast 73-87 trucks at Redline. There was a guy that had a kinda maroon 67-72 tubbed on a four link that was running a sprayed 383 stroker, he was pretty fast. I think he was turning mid 6s in his truck...not bad. We got to talking one night and started talking about each others trucks, said he would never race me cause he knew he would get beat. I was thinking to myself, this guy gotta be trying to real me into a race for money or something. I had not seen him run yet, plus my truck was in the garage in pieces as usual. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what my truck will run, but if it is in the 6s in the 1/8....I would be damn proud. I digress, he ran in the last race of the night and I saw the spray and started laughing. He launched so hard, brought the front wheels of the ground. NO way I would have come close to touching that. Anway, I am rambling. Post some pics of the Flores guys if you get a chance, would love to see what they look like. Maybe I possibly seen them around sometime.
