Corvette C5 wheels, will they work?

I'm thinking of picking up a set of used C5 wheels for my 1975 C10. Will these work without modification to the truck (offset/bolt pattern)? Will it work on a lowered truck? Does anyone have any pictures of their truck with corvette wheels?

Thanks in advance.

different bolt pattern and offset.

Re: Corvette C5 wheels, will they work?

Not even close. You need thick adapters to make it work. They would probably cost more than the wheels.

Re: Corvette C5 wheels, will they work?

Most s10s i have seen them on used a inch and half spacer to make up for the back spacing.

But the horsepower gain is remarkable and well worth having the ricer look. Right?

Ricer look for having Corvette wheels??? You sir misunderstand the term ricer!

scottd03820, you would need 5x5 to 5x4.75 adapters somewhere around 1.5 inches thick to run the Corvette wheels (depending on how wide the wheels are you're wanting to run). Should be $150-$200 for the set of 4, not too spendy at all.

The chrome C5 thin spokes were also bad for cracking, not sure I'd want them on a truck.

How about C6 wheels? :D

This picture doesn't do justice to how far off the backspacing is.

Mikentosh, what did you have to use to get them to work? I think they look good but am curious to see what they look like once you get the fenders and bed on.

Bnoon, thanks for the response. Do you know who makes them? I'm assuming there's some reason guys aren't doing it because I don't see too many trucks with them?

It's all custom. C6 spindles on the front and strange 9" rear with 5x4.75 bolt pattern.

I'm bringing a front fender to the shop tomorrow so I'll try to snap a photo.

Thanks for your response. I'm following your build. Very nice truck. I wish I could see a stock truck with spacers to see what it looks like. I like the thought of having corvette wheels but not sure its feasible without going the way you did.

They are the same bolt pattern, but I think the rear axle is the same width as the Blazer and S10 axle though.

Here's a pic of how far off the backspacing is without a spacer:

Thanks Mikentosh. Wow they really are tucked in there. I'm assuming these are just mock up wheels and not the wheels you are using given the size of the tires I saw in another picture you posted? You stated those are C6 wheels? What size are they and did you have them painted or is that a stock color? I'm still thinking I'd like to go with the corvette wheels because you just don't see a lot of them on square body trucks. Thanks again.

Ok, another question. Will the S-10 wheel spacers work on my C-10? I'm only finding s-10 spacers on the internet.

Yah these are just mockup wheels off another project in the shop. I believe they are 18" fronts and 19" backs. I can check next time I'm in there. Pretty sure they are C6 wheels in a gunmetal color. I'll probably do a similar color on the actual wheels.

I think it would look awesome with a set of these corvette wheels on a squarebody! You'll need to run some pretty wide spacers...there is almost 6" of space to the fender lip :)

S-10 has a 5x4.75 bolt pattern and the C-10 is 5x5 so, no, they wouldn't work.

Re: Corvette C5 wheels, will they work?

this topic got my attention, because i'm around corvettes everyday-and i too think it would look damn cool! so i did a little research this morning:
the camaro axle and rotor deal doesn't seem to work-the camaro front rotors are a tad smaller in diameter (almost an inch) and the truck rear brakes are way bigger in diameter (2'' bigger)then the camaro drums. maybe someone who has done it this way can chime in with some specific info.
summit sells adapters that go from the 5x5 pattern to 5x4.75, but they are only 1.25'' wide. too bad to- i can get my hands on a set of c5 z06 wheels that would look killer on my 80 short bed!

I like the idea of using corvette wheels, I just don't think it's feasible to get the right offset to get the wheels out where they need to be. Even if you could get the bolt pattern correct, I don't think you could get spacers thick enough to get the wheels out where it would look right.

I've been running similar spacers/adapters on my 50 with zero issues for the last 10,000 miles.

If you can't find a way to make them work on your truck, I'd love to get them for my C5.

Incorrect. The ZR1 replica wheels come in both C4 and C5 offsets (as do many other 'vette replica wheel styles). 17x9.5 on all 4 corners could either be ordered in 38mm or 56mm offset from Jegs. 38mm is just a tick under 1.5 inches, 56mm is 2.2... That's to be 0 offset, which we can handle at that width. Stay from 0 to +25mm final offset for wheels around this size to copy offsets that I've seen work for others on stock axles and suspension designs...

So... order the 38mm offset 17x9.5 wheels, order 1.25" thick or 1.5" thick 5x5 to 5x4.75 adapters, and boom... Corvette wheels.

I've thought about some white C5 Z06 "Motorsport" type replicas for mine with 17x11 rears and 315/35/17 with 17x9 front and 275/40/17... beefy. :metal:

Thanks Bnoon,
I'll look into that. I had a line on some original corvette wheels and was hoping to be able to use those. But I will look into your suggestion. Thanks agian. Scott

bump for an update! i was able to get a really good deal on a set of wheels that came off a c6 and some used tires, so after some measuring and mock up i decided to pull the trigger on the set up and found some 2'' thick adaptors from ebay-this is what i have now Attachment 1247011
